Install WineSkin.

Buy & install Heroes 3 from GOG.

Download & install the HD mod

Run the HD launcher. Works fine for me!

Confirmed as working on Mac.

There are some [other instructions] available (http://www.gog.com/forum/heroes_of_might_and_magic_series/homm3_wineskin_mac).

Either that or just buy the original Mac port (!)
