Sheer curtains can be yours for only $15 on Amazon! 😛 I had to get them because it was too much sun and it was burning all my plants.

Direct sunlight will probably fade the paint over time.

Putting them in a spot out of direct sunlight and/or using some sheer curtains will be a big help to preventing any major sunlight related fading.

Came in to say this. I've been looking for thick blackout curtains on a small budget lately and the best I've been able to come up with are liners like the ones above. You can find them on Amazon as well. It's even better than having a black/dark curtain because it will absorb even less heat from the sun as white will bounce back a LOT of IR light.

Edit: There are also curtain rods that come with two rails, to hang sheer curtains between the window and the thicker curtains. You can use that to have two sets. White curtains and the whatever other color you want.
