Absolutely!
First of all, go out and buy a Haynes Repair Manual. It's super cheap and has Honda's specific techniques for diagnosing and repairing your car. If you're more of a visual learner like myself, YouTube has a lot of repair videos that will walk you through repairs step-by-step. I'm a big fan of ChrisFix's videos because he uses common hand tools, and does all his work in his own driveway.

I was super nervous when starting out, so I stuck to small things like replacing the air filters, windshield wipers, and changing my oil.

([Here's] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ds0-jwm7h0) a Honda Fit oil change tutorial too).

After watching these two videos I learned HOW brakes work and felt comfortable enough to change my brakes, as well as paint my own calipers. There are also videos about changing your fluids (coolant, transmission fluid, etc..) which are just as important as mechanical maintenance.

Not only does this save you thousands of dollars through out the life of your car, but it gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment in doing these things for yourself. The way I see it, I paid over $12,000 for my car. I want to know as much as possible when maintaining this purchase. You buy phone cases, screen protectors and all kinds of protective features for your ~$200 phone, right? Why wouldn't you put the same level of care and thought into something 60X more expensive?

Lastly, Don't be afraid to spend some money on quality tools! Spend a little extra on a socket set, wrenches, floor jack, and screwdrivers. They're universal tools that you'll be using for many other projects. Also go out and get yourself a Torque Wrench! It's a must-have if you're working on your car. (How to use)

Good luck, and don't stress too much! It's tremendously fun to work on your car! :)
