These are things that when first moving into student housing I wish I had brought with me. I'm in an apt now and have these things(Sans earplugs. Where did they go?) but it's still on uni property and still chock full of students.
Ear plugs... If one more idiotic person sets off the fire alarm I am going to have to hurt someone, preferably them. This happens every start of the semester. Also helpful if you have a loud roommate or one who has loud sex.
Closet organizers plus an under the bed organizer. It really helps keep the room clean and organized. Target is great for this; just get the plastic ones. You don't need anything fancy.
cordless sweeper This is awesome for keeping your space clean without having to have a bulky vacuum. Just got one and it makes me happy.
