A lot of my art schooling was kind of pointless. I learnt the fundamentals and how to work under pressure, but most of art classes were just "Oh hey, here's an artist with tons of back story, why don't you copy their work?" Honestly the majority of my art knowledge comes from TV shows like Art Attack, books and just sitting at home everyday and going 'today I'm going to draw X' and not stopping until I had it perfect. If you want to learn manga I highly recommend this series of books. =]
