Better protip: spend the little extra upfront to grab a reliable laserjet printer. You can usually get replacement toner from Amazon for $9 shipped and they'll last you 2,000+ pages. Example Example toner

I have a quite inexpensive mono wireless laser HP printer that works great, and has quite a bang for the buck as regards toner (HP 1102w).

Get that or a similar low-end brother wireless laser printer model. She can wirelessly print her boarding pass, and you'll save a ton of headaches.
Have the older version of this printer. Does the job well, fast, efficient. Couldn't ask for better and if you buy third-party cartridges, very cheap to fill.

I've never had anything other than trouble from Brother. Drivers, bodgy cartridges and drums, slow updates .. I guess it works for some and not others. Cheers for the idea!
Best investment you can make in a printer is getting a good laserjet. I personally use this: https://smile.amazon.com/HP-LaserJet-Wireless-Printer-CE658A/dp/B00847UWUE?sa-no-redirect=1 the HP LaserJet P1102w, but there are cheaper options available. It takes about 3 minutes to print an entire test since printing via laser is much more efficient (and toner for laserjets is way cheaper as well.)
