Define damage. Damage as in make holes that you'll need to patch? Or do you consider something as minor as pulling paint that you have to touch up damage?

I use this to mount my sensors: https://www.amazon.com/iSaddle-Thread-Double-Sided-Adhesive-Universal/dp/B00BPRLNQ2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1541363258&sr=8-3&keywords=3m+camera+mount

This to run the wires for the sensors (and my ethernet + bookshelf speakers) https://www.amazon.com/Legrand-Wiremold-Raceways-Management-Channels/dp/B0015EDVVU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1541363250&sr=8-2&keywords=legrand+wiremold

And I used to use these until I went wireless:

Highly recommend this!

HOWEVER - Only recommend if you are able to drill them - They can't hold the weight of the cables without being drilled - I used Tecks Self Tapping screws (meaning you don't have to pre-drill a hole for them) I can check the exact size I got if you would like.

If you can't screw these into your ceiling then I wouldn't recommend, as they really weren't capable of holding the cables with just the provided adhesive (Just being honest, I certainly wouldn't want to risk anyones safety or anyones VR device)

Yeah, i had this one set up downstairs until I got the wireless adapter. It's not perfect, but it is a huge improvement over the cable being on the floor. Apart from the obvious never tripping on it (that rarely happened anyways) it's pretty helpful for doing full circles, like when going up a staircase in skyrim for instance. With the distance that I had in my room there was a bit of tugging when I got close to the boundaries, but otherwise it worked pretty well.

u/KillerInYourCloset · 2 pointsr/oculus

Save yourself! And your Rift!

I have this and it works great. My only suggestion is to go to an outdoor store and buy some of the small aluminum climbing pulleys so the cable doesn't bind.

I got 3 of these

I have two of the reels on the ceiling and one on the wall to keep tension. I do not notice these when I use it (I use rift at least 2 hours a day for exercise with BoxVR and Beat Saber).

There are different accessories I have bought and has made my experience better.

- Expensive (Mainly for playing games and having a mic instead of the built in mic since it's buggy on the headset) - https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Flight-Detachable-Comfortable/dp/B077ZGRY9V/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3D960PSK6KV35&keywords=hyperx+cloud+flight&qid=1564661727&s=electronics&sprefix=hyperx+cloud+%2Celectronics%2C151&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExRkdWSElOUU5JREhTJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDYwNzUxMVZSTjVPU1pFS0Y1USZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTEwOTk2MVgyMkUwMjdWRlo1MyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

I have had no issues at all, this setup working very well for me.

So I use this : https://www.amazon.com/Hyperkin-FreeStep-Management-System-playstation-4/product-reviews/B073P7GJNP?pageNumber=2

Only difference is I attached them using command adhesive white Velcro so I can take them down and leave the velcro up for easy re-attaching without having the retracts hanging all the time. The velcro is attached on the flat side and the opening points out to the side, not down. Hasn't been an issue for me

I bought this for my VR cable but I also hold my headphone cord under my desk so it doesn't touch the floor. Hyperkin FreeStep VR Cable Management System for HTC Vive/ PS VR/ Oculus Rift (6-Set) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073P7GJNP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ucISDb5DB8X4F

You mean something like this?

I picked up these from MICROCENTER - AMAZON LINK

then used a Large 3M Command Strip lare plastic hook.

How i mounted them is I have 4 of them mounted on my ceiling.
2 are always in the loop. while the other two i take the cable off the mounts when not in use.

How i did it was i stood in the center of where i would be standing for VR. Put a mount there. Then traced back to where the cable starts from the Link box i put on the wall. I am not at home so can't provide photos. But overall. Start from the play space center and work your way back to the link box

Anyone have any thoughts of the overhead pully system? How good is this for walking around and around and around and around in circles with this? I imagine it's still not good for the cables. (And I'll probably still want to lay down now and then, because I'm lazy from time to time. :P (And some shooters will let you prone...))

u/Stealth_Pyros · 1 pointr/oculus

Huh? You can get these which should just require a fast touch up with paint on removal (literally like 1"x1" each): https://www.amazon.com/Hyperkin-Freestep-Cable-Management-System-Oculus/dp/B073P7GJNP/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501080604&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperkin+vr+cable. Not to sure about the twisting aspect but it shouldn't be much work to pull the cable, straighten it all out, and pass it through the hoops again.

u/_Deh · 1 pointr/WindowsMR

For roomscale I use my cable hanging from the ceilling using this (FreestepVR).

I think I won't really notice while playing roomscale games, but for seated experiences I'll need to find another solution. The Microsoft Motion Vector Reprojection works like the asynchronous spacewarp (ASW) from Oculus? At least with Oculus your fps drops to half the refresh rate when ASW kicks in, how does it work with the reverb?

I got this kit and I like it a lot. I didn't find that it pulled or anything. And I think it's probably cheaper than the setup you've come up with.

Honestly RS sucks bad with 2 Sensor's compared to vive.
3rd Sensor is doing a great Job. I've got 4 and im not disappointed.
If u get a PC for over 1000$ a rift for now 500$ u hesitate a 3rd/4th Sensor for 60$? Imho wrong decision.
