This is showing as $2.99 for me, but the first book in the series here is showing free ebook, with $7.49 narration.
In times like these (free on Kindle for now). The writing is not very polished, especially in the beginning, but it gets somewhat better. There is some technobabble, which I'm not a big fan of. But ultimately, it has hooked me in with solid time travel mechanics in a multiverse and it turned out to be a good page turner. As to how it's related to your theme, it starts out with a group of friends who accidentally travel back in time and then are trying to survive while learning about what has happened to them.
