These defy the purpose of practicing with a hanging chain. The idea is that if you're able to focus on the chain and hit it when you practice putting, then when you get out on the course and it's time to lay in a put, you'll feel more confident hitting a larger target.

  • Bug spray
  • drink coozy
  • towel that clips onto his bag
  • socks that let your feet breathe but keep your ankles protected
  • make him a shirt that says something about disc golf
  • a new mini disc is always fun
  • if he doesn't have a basket at home, this link and this link are good places to start

Or the next time you two are out on a date, ask him to show you some discs at a sporting goods store that he has his eye on. Or try these websites:

  • Marshall Street
  • Gotta Go Gotta Throw
  • Disc Golf World
  • Innova
  • Flywood Discs

Marshall Street is where you're going to get the most bang for your buck. I added Flywood there on the end because that's one of my dream discs to own, just because the idea of a wooden frisbee gives me shivers and tingles.

I've ordered a couple Pacific Outdoors practice targets. Main advantages are the low cost ($100) relative to other baskets and they're closer to PDGA dimensions than a lot of other practice baskets. Downside is they only come in on color (red), only have one set of chains and while they are portable they're completely metal so more difficult to move around than something like a Skillshot. You can find it on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Pacific-Outdoors-Disc-Golf-Goal/dp/B000ASG0DI/ref=sr_1_1?s=sports-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1450128100&sr=1-1&keywords=pacific+outdoors+disc+golf+goal

You can get Insteps for $100 or less or any variation of a portable basket for just over a hundred... I have a skill shot and though its smaller than a regular basket after practicing 35 footers on that I feel like I could park a bus in a regular basket.

Get a basket and practice. Start close and move out as you make them, closer as you miss them. As long as you have solid fundamentals, it's just a confidence thing and you need to get your mojo back.

Edit: I got this basket a few weeks ago, it's cheap and 'close enough' to the real thing for me to notice improvement already.

I keep the blue one in my car (actually threw on my lunch break for the first time just a bit ago), other is portable but requires more space and few more steps to assemble. I keep the red one assembled out back, and hide it in the trees when I'm done. Innova is s more narrow shot, the chains on The Pacific Outdoors' unit below throws discs out every once in a while, but is great for practice.

I've got this in my backyard. I don't particularly need it to be super portable - I prefer it stand up to weather. For $100 shipped, I'd say it's a steal.

My Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is this disc golf goal

I want it because I would love to set up disc golf in my back yard or when I want to go out with friends.

If I never got it I would not be surprised. Its really just a fun item with no real requirement of ownership.

Thanks for the fun contest :)

Well, thanks! Not sure I've ever been someone's hero.
I use these. Basically they've been my father's day, birthday, and Christmas presents for years now. I still have two holes I'm using lobster buoys for targets, but the end is in sight!

Edit: in the picture on Amazon, they're set up wrong, which is funny. You can set the basket so that it's below the chains
