That was about what my budget was when I built my gaming machine. This will get you a solid machine that can play almost all games on the highest settings. This is what I would build if I had your budget. You might be able to find cheaper prices elsewhere, I was using Amazon because they have a very good search feature.
Whenever building your gaming rig, I would follow the list below. The higher up on the list, that is where your money should go. If a sacrifice needs to be made, do it at the bottom of the list.

I have been a PC gamer since the mid-80s and have built my own system every 4-5 years. The good news is that they made it idiot proof now. You literally cannot put in something backwards unless you use a hammer on it. The only part you may struggle with is the motherboard- case connections for your power button, reset etc. Some cases come as a single big plug, while others just a collection of tiny plugs.
