I would agree. I would also recommend Invisible Planets, a collection of Chinese science fiction short stories edited by Ken Liu.
An anthology of Chinese SF short stories, called Invisible Planets, was released last month. They were translated by Ken Liu, who translated Three-Body Problem and Death's End into English, and has written some novels of his own as well, mostly fantasy IIRC.
I do think it's partially a Chinese writing style thing that makes it very challenging to translate without losing its original meaning.
I finished the Three Body trilogy and have been working through Invisible Planets (short story anthology) and am noting a similar style across authors.
I studied in China for a while and when I read translated Chinese stories I can just feel the language and cultural differences seeping through. Very hard to describe, but it can definitely be a challenge to work through, much less appreciate. I've had to put down Invisible Planets in favor of Children of Time, which I've been having much more fun with.
