I use this one. It is amazing and holds it very well. The spring loaded part is what I like the most - it hold the phone extremely well without slipping. iOttie Easy One Touch 3

I have the new version of that the EasyTouch 3 link here and it's incredible with this phone best car mount I've ever had. I've used it even with the extended battery and case so it could handle anything you throw at it.

I dont recommend any of the above posted.

YOU MUST get the iOttie V3. It was on sale with prime day for $17, usually $25. Which it is now. The suction of the cup is outstanding and the phone wobble is next to none if any at all. Free prime shipping. I think 1 year warranty. And has tons of great reviews!

I use the Iottie 3 and have it mounted to the wing window above the side view mirror. The long neck works great and I can see it out of the corner of my eye without taking my eyes off the road. I ran a long cable up through the center console and under the steering wheel so I can charge my phone while driving.

This is the one I have. I find it quite easy to use. Push to snap the phone and then pinch the sides to release it. When you pinch the sides, it's easy to grab the phone at the same time.

I have a buddy that does food deliveries and also uses it. he loves it so much that when his failed he got a warranty replacement.

u/c00ller · 3 pointsr/nexus5x

The iOttie Easy One Touch 3 has been a pleasure to use. It fits the Nexus 5X well, and the one touch design is not just a gimmick - it is legit so much more convenient than any other mount I've used, and no need to attach anything to your phone like the magnet based ones. If you'll notice, the product is listed as "One Touch 3 (V2.0)". The 2.0 is important because the first iteration had a bad spring mechanism that would break in relatively short amounts of time. Been using the 2.0 for a long time now, so far so good.

u/jeffreymcclain · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

Bought the iOttie Easy One Touch 3 last year, works fairly well.

I'm absolutely loving it. It is extremely secure on the windshield or dashboard, and I prefer it over magnet mounts. Magnet mounts are great until you change your case and forget to include the attachment or don't use a case (like myself).

u/hydraSlav · 2 pointsr/AndroidQuestions

I just went through this myself. I used this article:
http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-bluetooth-kits-for-every-car-stereo/
Their #1 recommendation doesn't do auto-connect, have to press a button each time (they do mention that). I went with their #2 recommendation.

Pay attention to the model number of the #2. The one they recommend is HB01, not HB01 Plus. They mentioned that the Plus has ground loop issues. Some people on Amazon also mentioned it, but not enough. I gave it a try... had to return cause I also had ground loop issue, along with echo on call. The recommended HB01 worked great so far.

For the mount, I got this. Have it mounted on the dashboard, but it mounts to windshield too:

It seems to come with a car charger right now, but no clue if it's a fast charger. Otherwise, the one touch 4 is the same price at 25 bucks. Sometimes they come down to 15 bucks or so on sale.

If you are unable or unwilling to stick a magnetic plate to your phone for whatever reason, you can use this.

Pressing the phone into it automatically locks it into the place. Suction cup is ridiculously strong. The arms open wide enough to use with any case (I use the Otterbox Defender with it).

First official post here. Wanted to share my 2017 Mazda3 Sport GS Automatic in Soul Red Metallic. Named her after Julianne Moore. I bought my 3 last June from Jeff Holley at Mazda of Toronto - like so many others, can't recommend this man enough.

I cleaned her up in time for Spring (Ontario, the snow is finally all melting after the recent brutal ice storm), picked up my summer rims and tires yesterday from Allen at Simply Tire in Toronto, and took a bunch of exterior and interior photos for you lovely folks:

See Photos Here

In case anybody is interested in some of the things I've since added to my 3, I'm including links!

Wheels: RTX Envy Black Machined Bronze 17x7.5 40mm offset

Tires: Hankook Ventus S1 Noble H452 215/50/17

Scuff Plates: Mazda OEM Scuff Plates

Hatch Sill Guard: Mazda OEM Rear Bumper Guard

Mats: Mazda OEM All-Weather Floor Mats

Hatchback Mat: Mazda OEM Cargo Tray

Dash Cam: Aukey DR02-CA 1080p Dash Cam (routed through the headliner, down through the driver's side weather stripping and hardwired into the fusebox)

Start/Stop Button Red Ring: Found on eBay for $3 CAD!

Alloy Gas/Brake/Dead Pedals: Also found on eBay for around $30 CAD, no drilling required

Phone Mount: iOttie Easy One Touch 3 mounted to the side of the storage space under the A/C controls. (Incredibly sturdy, clever mount/unmount mechanism, and hardly moves when on the road.)

Trunk Crate: CleverMade 46 Litre CleverCrate (Found at a much lower price and in red at Costco)

Hope you like!

I bought this one when I had the Moto X

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01BZC262Q/ref=oh_aui_i_sh_in_o2_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

With the support of the power cable there's just enough room to also still plug in your aux if you don't have Bluetooth.

u/you_are_breathing · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

I have a car CD slot mount for my phone, but with the Otterbox case and the phone weight, the mount sags when I drive, so I need to find another solution, maybe I'll get this to mount it to my dash.

u/TheStoneAge · 1 pointr/iphone

$40?! I use this one off amazon and it feels almost as fast as a magnetic mount.

u/bubbabanger · 1 pointr/rav4club

I use this one but on my windshield instead of the dash as some people have reported it's so sticky it can damage the dash. So far I love it and it's been working great.

u/robots3humans0 · 1 pointr/iphone
u/decoherent · 1 pointr/MotoX

I've bought two of these mounts for both cars (for both Moto X's). They work disturbingly well. The cradle things work fine and are easily adjustable so they don't hit the buttons, the extensible arm is pretty solid, and the suction cup is made of some crazy unobtanium. Our dashes are just the standard textured vinyl, and the suction cups don't need an adhesive base, they just stick right to the dash. They finally fall off maybe twice a year, and we just stick them back on.

u/Ls777 · 1 pointr/FordFocus

This iottie is pretty popular for a reason, the design is pretty fantastic.

I was using a magnetic car mount that was in the vent but I got [this] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BZC262Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) back in October and absolutely love it, so much better than the magnetic one

u/breakone9r · 1 pointr/Trucking

I've had this one since Christmas. Works great for me, the suction cup is sticky, so it'll stick to surfaces that aren't perfectly smooth, I've got mine mounted to a flat spot above the parking brake buttons.

I've had this phone holder for multiple long distance trips and has not failed even once. Easy to use, easy to setup and adjust. Don't lose grip, doesn't jiggle and doesn't slowly lean.

Yup, it's this one... I have both of these, but the newer one is obviously better. The new one's clamps sit just shy of the volume button on my regular pixel. The old one covers the volume down button.

The one-touch mounts from iOttie are the best: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BZC262Q/ref=psdc_10981321_t1_B00JRGOKQ8

There is nothing better. We have multiple models in my household (4 cars). All of them fabulous.

And yes you can mount it backwards, upsidedown, etc. The unit that accepts your phone can be rotated into landscape (that is how I use it, for maps).

u/shrike1978 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS8

I use the iOttie Easy One Touch 3. It comes with a reusable dash pad with a non-destructive and renewable adhesive for dash mounting, or you can mount straight to the windshield. It has a ton of versatility in mounting location due to the high level of adjustability on the mount itself, and has a easy in, easy out system where you're never fidgeting with clamps...just press your phone against the back and it snaps closed, press the buttons on the back and it locks back open.

u/aussie_jason · 1 pointr/Wrangler

You'll be fine (well except for the driving across Illinois thing), you're likely just overthinking it. I do recommend ordering iOttie Easy One Touch 3 (V2.0) as well and swapping out the actual phone mount piece as the Rugged Ridge one doesn't grip very well.

u/pandito_flexo · 1 pointr/Autos

I bought one of these for each of my vehicles. Best mount I've had. I don't like the vent mounts because usually, the vents are in use, which means the phone is either really hot or really cold.

u/TheSmokey1 · 1 pointr/JeepRenegade

I've used this with really great success: iOttie Easy One Touch 3 (V2.0) Car Mount Universal Phone Holder for iPhone X 8/8 Plus 7 7 Plus 6s Plus 6s 6 SE Samsung Galaxy S9 S9 Plus S8 Plus S8 Edge S7 S6 Note 8 5 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BZC262Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_4KdLBbXW7QBVK

The suction pad is really sticky. It's not a normal suction pad. The sticky part helps it to really cling to whatever it's attached to. I use it on the dash vents on top, though I think I have it attached to one of those large round disks that I stuck first to give the mount something to grab to.

u/BGT456 · 1 pointr/ProtectAndServe

I recommend this one. It can use regular suction cup or gel. Gel is 100% secure and will never come off accidentally. Only disadvantage if you need to take it off ever it's difficult. Especially if it has baked on tmin the heat.

Otherwise get a Garmin. They come with a mount. But if it does stay one you can get the phone mount and use it for the Garmin.

u/Why_Is_This_NSFW · 1 pointr/Dashcam

When/if you get the Viofo understand that many are reporting the quality "red back" 3M sticky pad might be a knockoff, so in high heat it could come off. I would suggest getting a standard low profile suction mount, which, depending on the mount, will allow you to rotate the camera should you get pulled over.

The G1W comes with a 360 suction mount, which is great. The A119 is fixed in the front position. The camera lens itself moves, but if you want to rotate it 180 during a road interaction or cop interaction it wont allow that.

The suction cup for my mount on my most recent G1W came off, and after it came off I noticed it was never really put on well to begin with. I used GOOP automotive, which has always worked well for me in the past (it kept my side mirror on for 3 years after I accidentally knocked it off) but it couldn't keep the cup to the mount, so you may want to invest in a better mount.

The slot used for the G1W and A118/A119 is the same. I had an old mount I got on ebay a while back when my mount broke that fit the bill. So, if you want to be able to rotate your A119 toward you for any reason I suggest getting a half decent suction mount. $8 on Amazon should fit the bill. That should work with G1W and A119.

EDIT: As an aside, if you're looking for a good phone mount, for GPS and whatnot, I highly recommend this one. It's awesome. I've burned through like 5 phone mounts until I found this one, and this thing is great. You open up the clasp and just press your phone into it and it locks on. The suction mount is a bit sticky, but it holds great. It has been a godsend for me being a road warrior.

> So I should just take a wireless charger with me everywhere I go?

And you're not doing that now? Can you just plug your phone into any random wall outlet? NO. You need a USB charger. Just carry around a wireless charger instead of that.

Want a battery? Here you go.

> And how would that work on long car trips?

Qi car charger.

Give the iOttie Easy One Touch 3 a shot.

Folks around these parts and on XDA (haven't searched for the specific thread I remember reading it on but it's around) have confirmed that it fits at least the XL without hitting volume keys. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive before I can confirm either way about the non-XL Pixel.
