I catch these all the time and didn't even know it was a big deal. It started when I'd see 5 star products with a lot of reviews but they were given the product for free to write the review. At that time, they'd actually mention it in their review that it worked that way. All the sudden, I started noticing the same type of thing happening, but no one mentioning they got it free and all tagged as verified purchases. Here's the thermometer I caught this shit on recently.

That's the one I keep calling cheep lol. It only goes to one decimal place and I can take my temperature 3 times in a row and its drastically different (up and back down again by half a degree or more). The easy@home one is soooo much better. I've been spoiled. It has a backlight and a memory, so I literally fall asleep with it taking my temperature orally and wake up 10 min later when my snooze alarm goes off again and can recall the temp. It goes to 2 decimal places and I have great accuracy with it.
