Extra long phone charging cable is a nice thing to have.

Yes, it also does not need batteries while connected via micro-USB, and any USB-to-micro-USB cable will work, so you could buy a longer one if desired, this one has been working for me.

OP, I have one of these and it changed my life. For the sake of the relationship, you should prolly get one too.

I have these from iXCC (available on Amazon). I love them. They're durable, cheap, and the 10 ft. cord is really nice because I can comfortably use my phone while it's charging.

I've tried Mediabridge in the past and their cables always crapped out on me after a month or two. They would always get loose. It was so annoying. I've been using the iXCC ones for months now with no sign of the dreaded wiggling.

It's a USB to Micro USB, a lot of non-apple phones use this cable so you can find them anywhere from Amazon to 5-below to a local gas station, usually very cheap too. Here is one on amazon https://www.amazon.com/iXCC-Durable-Charge-Android-Windows/dp/B00DYWC26G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1499668935&sr=8-4&keywords=micro+usb+charger for $5.99 but i'm sure you can get one much cheaper at 5-below or dollar tree, etc.

Yup. It's embarrassingly antiquated. I use lesser compressed PNGs and the 2nd account workaround converts them to JPG. This is what I've done to obviate this absurd lack of functionality when it comes to media transfer (Android required):

Couch-distanced charge cable [Amazon link]
F/F Micro-USB coupler [Amazon link]
USB OTG transflash [Amazon link]

Put in a spare microSD card (I use 8GB). Grab the charge cable. Put on the F/F coupler. Plug the mUSB into the female mUSB. PS4 sees the mSD card like a flash drive plugged directly into the console. Transfer, unplug, then plug it into your phone. Transfer directly as OTG external disk via the picture share in WhatsApp.

EDIT: Note that the above links are Micro-B (i.e. your standard micro USB connector, not fancypants C-type).
Though this is still USB transfer, you don't have to get up from your spot and it skips the PC step.

You need a micro usb cable, like this one(https://www.amazon.com/iXCC-MicroUSB-Android-Samsung-Windows/dp/B00DYWC26G). I'm just assuming most people have at least one because so many electronics use it.

Got it. It seems like there are Micro-B USB to USB Type A 3.0, but not Micro USB to USB Type A 3.0.

Anyway, I think I found a few that might be worthy of consideration. The AmazonBasics brands just have bad ratings.
