I put the spikes in before the flowers started and my plants are producing like crazy. It says 8 spikes per plant but I just put a couple in and they’ve been doing wonders so far.

The most important part of the label is that N-P-K, in the case of the above is 2-7-4. Since this plant has already completed a lot of it's vegetative growth (powered mostly by N), it mostly needs P & K. So just make sure whatever you get is lower N.
Put the fertilizer around the base of the plant and scratch it into the surface (an old fork works well for that). Then mulch around the base (but not at the stem).
Get a clean pair of scissors, and a rag soaked in alcohol or peroxide. Cut off any disease branches, and cut off any that are touching the ground- both can pick up / transmit disease to the rest of the plant more easily.
Water by feel and try to keep it consistent, and know that overwatering can be just as bad as underwatering.
A high Nitrogen fertilizer is good for vegetative growth and should treat you well until Early to Mid-august. At that time you will want to stop with that and start with a bloom fertilizer or a fertilizer for tomatoes. Your current fertilizer should have instructions on the bag of how to feed it properly. I would probably start with a half dose as the 24 N is fairly high and you don't want to burn your ladies. You can always add more, removing fertilizers from soil is nearly impossible.
