Though the top is designed for the egg in this setup I used to bottom silicone tray, melted some bacon grease in it and the cracked the wgg.
I have used my parents version of this the way it's meant to be in the past and it's pretty decent. But my eggs just fell out of the silicone when I turned it upside down
