I’ve used this for years. Works fantastic. Kenu Airframe

It rotates 360 degress at 45 degree increments, nice soft rubber that has great grip, has a nice little squeeze/tension to hold the phone.

Slides right onto the AC vents, I decided to go for the middle left vent but the far left vent would be a nice location as well.

I like this as it stays out of the way of my field of view and looks clean, no suction cup non-sense unless you like those types.

This is a bit difficult question, because different people have different preferences and use different phones.

Some people don't like to block their vents, I live in Southern California, where if I used regular dash, it would shorten life of my phone battery due to the very high heat that accumulates there.

So in my case blocking the vent is intentional, so the AC can keep the phone cool. So far this mount works best for me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WVT3QJB

It can be mounted on the center console and I use phone mounted horizontally through help of an USB-C angled connector: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZYL2ZTL

That seems to work well for me: minimal sun glare, horizontal position makes phone (HTC 10) content visible through polarized glasses. Doesn't obstruct anything important 2015 Prius IV (it sits on the mechanical CD door, but the way the console opens doesn't cause issues with it.)

Some things that didn't work for me:

Initially I also used ExoGear Car Mount: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G2U1O8E but stopped due to phone getting hot (might start using again in the winter)

Then I used Kenu Airframe+: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LU5LWQK

That fit on my left vent, kept my phone cool, and in vertical position (worked better with my M8 (no problem with polarized glasses)) although that location overall is not that good (you have to look to the side if you want to check map and there is often a sun glare there)

So, I'm the most happy with my current mount.

I did my research and settled on a Kenu Airframe+. It's been a good choice. It's small and unobtrusive and meets my Ubering needs.

u/forthelol · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

This vent mount. Bought it for 15 bucks a while back. Has a nice grip to it. Went out to the bumpy suburbs and it held my 6P without budging a bit.

u/chrispoole · 3 pointsr/onebag

I use a Kenu Airframe+ in my car generally, and take it with me when travelling. Small. Works well.

u/RGreen1911 · 3 pointsr/MotoX

I use the Kenu Airframe+. It's pretty good.

i have a Vent Clip for my phone. It normaly have Waze running, but when things get really bad, i turn on Plex, and catch up on lastnights TV.

I more listen then really watch.

I've been using the same Kenu Airframe mount for the past couple of years. It still works the same as the when I first got it. I tried an iOttie CD slot type mount, and it just felt extremely cheap compared to my Kenu. I use an UAG Monarch on my S8, and there's no issues.

If you want to use a magnetic mount, the magnetic plate will most likely block wireless charging, and may cause issues with NFC.

I have the airframe+ I hate suction cup mounts. This one is minimal and works.

I've got one and it works great. Nothing bad to say about it so far. Found out about from a few Redditors here.

u/Lobster70 · 2 pointsr/Miata

Kenu Airframe is a very nice, if pricey, vent mount that you might consider. I use the door pocket sometimes for my LG G4, but it also fits, just barely, into the cubby beneath my radio.

u/ezratic · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Same as pretty much everyone else here. I have the Airframe+ by Kenu. It's very stable and keeps my phone cool. Kinda scared to see what happens in the winter though tbh. I would def recommend though!

If you plan to stick to sub-5" devices, the Kenu Airframe is a good choice. If you plan to upsize to the Pro range, choose the larger model I have the larger one, and it's been rock solid yet easy to put my phone in and take it out one-handed.

u/billj457 · 1 pointr/nexus6

I use a Kenu Airframe+, works great.

u/Clawz114 · 1 pointr/nexus6

Anyone tried the Kenu Airframe + with the Nexus 6?

I'm currently using the regular Kenu Airframe with my Nexus 4 and I really like it. I was planning on getting the plus version when I get my Nexus 6.

u/quacktards · 1 pointr/videos

She uses the Airframe Plus. I'm pretty sure it is spec'd for the S7. They also have the regular Airframe which holds phones up to 5".

u/SQLBek · 1 pointr/GalaxyNote8

Kenu Airframe + for me.

I travel and am in rental cars every now and then, so being small & portable is also a nice bonus for my needs.

I use the Kenu Airframe+ mount. It's a bit expensive, but it is very sturdy and has a minimalistic design. It clips on to your air vents.

It depends on the pockets. As a guy, slacks, cargoes, and loose fitting jeans are all fine. Rodeo cut and thinner tend to have shallower pockets with tighter openings, so its difficult to sit down. The large openings and flexible nature of athletic shorts' pockets have given some people issues on /r/Nexus6. I never carry my phone in back pockets, so I can't speak to that part. In short, the Nexus 6 (case and all) is generally compatible with the average male wardrobe. Women's clothing, on the other hand, is categorically lacking in pocket quantity, width, and depth. Proceed with caution if also buying for your wife. My better half has the GS5, so we've had a lot of time to compare.

To check on pocket-fit before ordering, I threw together a quick mockup using corrugated cardboard, scissors, masking tape, coins (for ballast), and the spec sheet. Took about five minutes. Simply cut two rectangles (one slightly wider than needed), round the corners, and sandwich the two sheets together with the wider one forming the curved back. I stuffed in a few strips of scrap cardboard so it would hold the curved shape, then taped it up. Tightly fitting masking tape even deflates the cardbaord corrugation around the rims to give an unintendedly accurate curved-glass front. Works well, and has stellar battery life; I have yet to need a re-charge.

As a quick note about the case, Spigen's Slim Armor is surprisingly thin (for a dual-layer model). However, if you're used to the soft, springy silicon liners that Seidio makes, you're going to be disappointed in this hard inner shell. Less bounce (and less bulk) means less force re-direction on impact. That said, mine offers adequate protection for the moment, and I'll probably keep it for a while.

The Kenu Airframe+ looks like a great little car mount. According to Amazon, it fits phones as large as the Lumia 1520 (wider than the Nexus 6) but that's something I would wait to see before believing. I have an older iOttie mount that is too small for the Whale, but my solution is to 3D print an arm replacement. If your mount similarly falls short, you might also want to give 3D printers a try. Many libraries and universities will let you use their MakerBots for roughly the cost of materials, so a dollar or two at most.

It's great to hear that Ting is refunding the cost of your phone, and also that you're with Ting in the first place! It seems like Nexus phones are almost custom-built for cost and contract cutting (despite the initial price tag). I look forward to seeing you around the related reddits! /r/Ting /r/Nexus6

Ditto, cheap, easy, solid, and goes with you anywhere. I almost bought one of those steel setups before realizing what a mistake it would have been considering that you can't use the big chunky mount on the back of your phone when you're renting a car elsewhere.

Don't get the ones with four sides, you just need two. Like so https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LU5LWQK/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_Rfe5Cb63BM747

The $5 section at Target has a similar style.

Kenu Airframe+ I use this since MXPE and now ZPlay, no issue with the width, not sure about the depth with a large mod attached --

I also use my phone for Waze since the NAV is crippled with no real-time traffic. The Kenu Airframe (http://www.amazon.com/Kenu-Airframe-Portable-Smartphones-Phablets/dp/B00LU5LWQK) works great right under the main screen.

u/Des88 · 1 pointr/SonyXperia

Yeah, this is the one I've been using specifically so it's the only one I can really vouch for: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LU5LWQK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_dp_T2_cELDzbC4RF3PQ
The phone doesn't slide and the holder won't rotate by itself either. Could probably get away with a cheaper one though.

Alright I just Solo'd an Alakazam right now https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/alakazam-solo-raid-guide he had Confusion (rated Challenging by gamepress) and Future Sight (rated Easy by gamepress) and it took me 4 attempts to get it. I went with lv30 Houndoom (S/FP), lv32 Houndoom (S/C), lv32 Scizor, lv30 Mewtwo, lv32 Tyranitar (B/C), lv30 Tyranitar (B/SE). I kept timing out as you can tell based on my unoptimized squad. Some issues were hitting me like timing out with 5 seconds left. What I discovered with this little experiment of mine was a nice little hack to improving your phone performace underpressure. https://www.amazon.com/Kenu-Airframe-Android-iPhone-Accessories/dp/B00LU5LWQK/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1523903603&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=kenu+phone+holder&psc=1 I have this car mount and it's on your air vent. What I did was turn my car on and placed my Airconditioner on low and removed my phone case, shut all my vents off except for where my phone was mounted. It worked I beat Alakazam with 0 seconds left.

So would I recommend challenging any Tier 3 higher than Intermediate on Gamepress ratings? No. Don't do it. There may be exception if you have a tracker and know the moveset and have an optimized team for that moveset but it took me too much time and resources to solo that Alakazam and I regret doing it to be honest though I am stoked to have won.

Something of a lesson/cool story for you guys.

EDIT: The Houndooms were caught in the wild. So look out for lv35 15 attack houndours/houndooms on clear or foggy days.

EDIT: I'm also updating the guide with some performance hacks

I recommend this

I have the non plus version, but since you have the Otterbox, you'll need the extra extension. The non-plus version will fit the Note 5 without a case.

I love my Kenu Airframe. They do wear out eventually, but they seem to endlessly replace them for free.

u/fammoney · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Thanks for #1! I tried going back to my Mountek nGroove but traded it. While it held the 6P with the Spigen case linked above I could not trust it as the 6P was too tall to make me feel comfortable using it.

Right now I'm back to using my Kenu Airframe. This holds the 6P in case with no problems.

The Kenu Airframe+ is pricey ($30) but came highly recommended & after 2 weeks, love it. I promptly threw out my previous holder attached to the windshield - it is sooooo much nicer to have yr phone to the right of your wheel without having to reach! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LU5LWQK
