I actually have a book about a fat vampire.

Am also a vampire lover....which reminds me, been years since I've watched this.

Bloodlines is based on a tabletop RPG which has been in publication for 25 years now, since 1991.

So if you'd like to read more on the lore of the setting, feel free to browse the back catalogue or newer releases. The recently-released "Lore of the Clans," for example, provides some in-depth material for each of the 13 Clans of Caine and some of their variants.

And over the course of the last 25 years a lot of novels have also been released. Many of them are available here; I recommend the 13-book Clan Novel series in particular.

As /u/homerghost mentioned, there was a short-lived TV series in 1996, Kindred: The Embraced It actually holds up a lot better than I thought it would. The linked DVD set is a recent one, and comes with a newly-filmed epilogue, and a copy of the Book of Nod (the sort of vampire "Bible" which you may recall Beckett discussing in Bloodlines).

I work for the company which currently publishes VTM, so if you have any more questions about that setting (the World of Darkness), feel free to ask.

I watched the first episode when it aired and I hated it. I kind of wish I could give it another go now that I'm older, but I'm not about to spend $30 on a show I loathed just because it's connected to a game I love.

...That is an awfully nice boxed set, though.
