I've been doing long distance for a while now, first using emlalock and now with a friend on the other side of the country. In both cases I use a combination lockbox like this one by setting a new combination without looking and either taking a picture for emlalock or doing it in a video chat with the friend. You can try posting places like /r/keyholding or /r/gaykink to find someone to lock up. I'd volunteer if I wasn't already locked up. Good luck!

FWIW, SMF doesn't have luggage storage ( https://sacramento.aero/smf/about/faq ) so I doubt they have a place to store your keys, but it's still worth asking them.
