I have always used Kiwi brand stuff. They sell various kits on Amazon. You will want a brush, buffing cloth (chamois) and foam applicators. Here is one that comes with black and brown polish as well:

You can find conditioner separately. My routine is to brush them first to get off as much dirt/dust etc as possible, then use a damp sponge or cloth to clean them more thoroughly. Dry them off with a clean cloth and them let them sit a few minutes to air dry a bit more. Apply conditioner (be careful not to use too much), wipe off any excess, and let sit for about 30 minutes. Next apply the polish with one of the applicator foams. Let it set for about an hour to soak in and dry, then brush off with your brush and finally buff to a shine with the chamois.
