I don’t have one that’s $40 but my total hydration routine is a bit over $50! I’m a broke uni student so being able to replace things at a low cost yet high effect is pretty important to me haha.
My holy grail is the Klairs toner though. I’ve used it as my primary moisturizer before and it works well in that role if you’re willing to layer it 3+ times.
Klairs Unscented Supple Prep Toner for $20.
Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence for $30.
CeraVe PM Cream for $12/ea (I use as my daily moisturizer, not a fan of the day spf version).

As other's said it can itch and burn at first. Melazepam is stronger than others like GOW's or The Ordinary's 10%.

I started with one of those mixed with my moisturizer. I use either Hydro boost gel cream or meishoku ceracolla perfect gel and squalane. After a good time of that i now use it right after washing before toner.

With face redness it seems to be mostly about being soothing and gentle. I'm to the point now where i don't use soap to wash my face because the gentlest stuff was adding irritation redness.

I have also seen redness reduction using KLAIRS Supple Preparation Unscented Toner or Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner , Cosrx Snail 96, and SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica 100 Ampoule.

The redness battle is real. Of course sunlight is a major factor. If you do have rosacea some sunlight helps but then there's a "rebound" effect.

Still thinking about it myself but urea and sulfur are usually recommended too.

If you don't wear sunscreen, start! Looks like scarring around the wound (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation - PIH). Firstly, I used Bio Oil for three months straight and it didn't do anything, not for stretch marks or scarring, but you're welcome to try it.

What I'd recommend is something to reduce melanin production/brighten skin + an exfoliant. You don't have your routine or location posted so I'll just recommend some:

  • Spot treat with Alpha Arbutin on Amazon.
  • Licorice root toner on Soko Glam or on Amazon.
  • Hydroquinone treatment (requires a prescription).
  • Azelaic acid (so many options).

  • A chemical exfoliant like a BHA on Amazon or on PC's website.
  • An AHA for texture on Amazon.

So the idea would be cleanse (optional) > tone > moisturize > sunscreen in the AM and cleanse > exfoliate/treat > tone > moisturize in the PM. Go slow with the exfoliation - once a week and then increase. Also, HATS! If you can get away with wearing hats, that'll help with sun exposure as well. It'll take time, some of my most stubborn scars on my forehead took forever, but if you tackle it well, you should see some results.

In the future, don't just smoosh your fingers against the pimple to get it out. This is a better way to pop a pimple if you absolutely must get rid of it. :)

You definitely need to start using sunscreen daily if you can. Some of your redness might be your genetic blood flow to your face, but, if you feel irritation as well, it's probably from the sun.

Some products that help calm my redness:
Purito centella sunscreen

Haven't actually been able to try the unscented one yet, but I'm sure it's even less irritating

Klairs Unscented Toner

Bellamonster stress out solution serum

Products with centella asiatica or niacinamide are good for evening out the complection and reducing redness. Just avoid alcohol and essential oils if you can.

u/whyisthisnotgrammar · 3 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I know what you're getting at, but I was thinking of a product like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Preparation-Unscented-lightweight-essential-oil-free/dp/B07B65NJLV/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=klairs+toner&qid=1561947849&s=gateway&sr=8-4

And it's hard to read tone on the internet, but you were coming across as a bit condescending and rude.

Good luck with your skincare routine, I hope you can either get the Curology to work for you or remove it from your routine.

So my first haul should be coming today and I have what I feel is a really really dumb question..

First off, I ordered a first and second cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and BHA active. I'm wondering if between each product you wash the product off with water before applying the next or if there are any products you layer without rinsing the previous off first. Could someone explain this process to me?

I know that seems like a really dumb question... but I'm new to this. Thank you for any help!!

Also, I know ph adjusting and hydrating toners are applied at different times. Would this Klair's unscented toner be considered ph adjusting or hydrating? It seems to be marketed as both. Thank you so much!

I like it ok but don’t think it really does much. I want to try

Sake High Moisture Skin Lotion Toner By Kikumasamune for Women 16.9 Oz Lotion, 16.9 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ECQCVK0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_k9WUCbC155FGD

Or

And it took about two months to start seeing results from the retinol maybe. My forehead is smoothing out and my cc and blackheads on nose/chin are going away (had some purging)

Looking to add TO Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% to my routine to help with PIE/PIH. Where in my routine would I incorporate it?

Current routine for the last few months:

u/OnALostAdventure · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Hi! I just recovered from dehydrated skin recently and live in Germany too! I find that layering hydrating products and then sealing it with an occlusive cream works best. Perhaps you could try a similar routine to mine like this:

  1. Wash with water only

  2. Hydrating toner x2 layers (Asian brands are best at this since they are more like a light moisturizer! I use Innisfree Green Tea skin, but you could try Klairs which is available on German Amazon.

  3. A humectant such as Hada Labo premium mixed with another layer of toner. This is also available on German Amazon.

  4. Sebamed Clear Face Gel

  5. Seal it with Vaseline. Once your moisture barrier is better, you could try switching to thick layer Cerave Moisturizing Cream (this is available some Apotheke. You can find online which stores have it. Don't buy it online because the stores sell for only around 12 euro).

I also suggest installing a water filter if your area has hard water.

    Best of luck!

this is probably a very dumb question, but is toner a "one size fits all?" whenever i see a toner i see it says "suitable for all skin types."

edit: i should also point out i'm considering these two ( 1 and 2 )

u/mangokat · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

I think it already is: here

u/soggy_waff · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I’d use the wash at night and just rinse with water in the morning then use the toner and moisturizer. I personally find Asian toners to be really good for hydration, two good ones are the hada labo gokujyun lotion and the klairs supple preparation toner (I’d go with the klairs one tho bc some people have issues w the hada labo one giving them CCs)

asian skincare saved my ass last year lol nowadays i only get a one or two pimples a month

edit:

super basic stuff: cleanser, toner, moisturizer. that should probably be enough to at least save your skin.

cleanser: your og product. can make or break your skin.

you only need one of these products from each step. i'm not the best at this stuff but i gave some links to help you guys. you just kind of slather the stuff on. sorry that the prices are kinda high but 'tis the price of skincare.

bonus: put this on after the toner and before the moisturizer.

I use the klairs unscented supple preparation and I really love it. When I first bought it, i just kind of thought it’d be an extra thing in my routine that i wouldn’t care about, but after using it for the last couple of months, I really love it! It makes my face feel so hydrated without being crazy sticky or heavy. It works well with many products too. I’ve never taken accutane but I know the side effects can include severely dry skin, so I think this toner would be a good addition with accutane.
