I'm late to the party, but I'd also recommend the book Labyrinth of Evil to enhance the prequel experience. This was the lead-in book to Episode III, which runs parallel to Genndy's Clone Wars Volume II (depicting some of the same events).

The book details the Jedi order beginning to unravel Darth Sidious' plans and ends with the start of the Battle for Coruscant.

Much like the Clone Wars shows, it helps enforce the idea that Obi-wan and Anakin were good friends, as well as give the Jedi Order much more credit in nearly stopping their downfall.

this is actually described in a book i believe - not totally sure if it's the incident specifically referred to in revenge of the sith but IIRC there are some times on Cato Neomoidia where anakin definitely saves obi wan in the book

Revenge of the Sith picks up immediately after The Labyrinth of Evil which is considered to be the prequel to Revenge of the Sith. It ends with Anakin and Obi Wan hyperspace off to Coruscant which is where Revenge of the Sith picks up.
