You spay/neuter them. You put their hay feeder above their litterbox. Then you put almost no effort into litter training them but it somehow works.

Then you buy cord protectors for everything for a grand total of idk, like, $20 bucks on Amazon. Realize that buying cord protectors that go against your wall actually make your home look better too. Splurge an extra bit every month to get decent litter and litterpan liners. Throw out the trash every 3 days without having to wash a box and feel like a king.

I'd recommend searching for a "cord channel" or "cord raceway" as an alternative. This is an easy way to hide a cable.

One thing you need to be careful of is if you are using one that comes with adhesive backing and need to remove it the paint will likely come off with it. I am considering getting a kit without it and using 3m velcro strips.

$400-$500 is the absolute bottom basement cost to get a super beginner 5.1 setup. I'd rather see you spend $500 and replace the S530BT AVR with a Denon X1400H for $330. You'd have much more future capability with that receiver, but ultimately at this stage the speakers are more important.

Generally, LEDs for indoor use shouldn't do any harm to figures because they don't output UV or enough heat, so those lights should be fine assuming you don't mind switching out batteries every once in a while.
It's not wireless, but if you're willing to do some extra work, they sell wire hiding tubes that you can stick along walls and corners with adhesive.

If surface run is required and staples are not an option, we frequently use stick on cable conduit. We tend to use NiceDuct brand stuff that works well enough if you clean the area of the wall with the included alcohol pads before affixing the attached two sided tape. It's actually a product designed to hide wire. There is an adhesive side and slit. Stick it your wall and push the wire through the slit. If you're in the US, Lowe's and Home Depot carry it. And, as always, on Amazon as well

They're easily found in hardware stores (at least in the US). They do a great job sticking permanently, and you can paint over them.

While in wall is preferred, I would recommend wall runners for amateur work that still looks nice. You could potentially drill through the floor in a corner and run it up to another hole in the ceiling to the 2nd floor. A lot less frustration and skill needed.

It would probably cost $60-90 though to do your whole room. You could paint them the color of what you need as well. Lowes and HomeDepot usually have a good selection of cable hiders. They look pretty good when set up, especially if you match them with the base board color.

If wireless turns out to be a flakey solution your wife might find it acceptable if you use a small paintable, plastic raceway to hide a cord for the TV. We used this one in my mom's 1890's house, https://amazon.com/gp/product/B0015EA3P2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It looks like it's part of the baseboard so isn't noticeable and it was super easy to install.

I would recommend using these. It has a sticky side so you can stick it right on the baseboard.

Renting definitely limits your options, but there are some things you can do to make things really shine.

1. Get some Velcro ties. This $5 packet will last you a while and they're reusable. Use them to tie all the cables together. Use that pole in the middle strategically to have them route behind that, or even tie the cables to that pole.
   
   
2. Get a longer display cable for your portrait monitor. The cable length is forcing you to have the tower angled awkwardly and puts strain on the connection and tilts the portrait monitor unnecessarily.
   
   
3. Combine the TV's power and display cables into a single strand using velcro ties that runs down from the TV, behind the games and then down the wall to behind your desk. You can even use this without leaving a permanent mark on the wall. Just cut to the right length.

I have mine on remote outlets (similar to these), nice and quick to turn them on and off, and then I used a simple cable channel to hide the power cable. I would get random shutoffs while playing with bluetooth. Not at first, but after a few months for some reason, it started doing that.

You may even want to wrap the power cord around the AC unit so it doesn't drop down and that huge knot isn't sitting there.

Cord hider will also be good to run down the wall - maybe you could even plug in a short extension cord so the big nub for whatever else needs to be plugged in sits on the floor instead of on the wall.

I don't know if the switch next to the power outlet powers anything, or if it's just for the AC. You could look into different outlets that may clean up how that looks.

Short cord runs, cord hiders, and right angles will make this look a lot cleaner.

I'd suggest using a magnetic case with a permanent magnetic plate and a track of Wiremold
