Just remember that you have to shell out extra cash for a media player software, as VLC won't read decrypted/encrypted(?) blu-ray movies, such as the popular MacGo for $40 since they got the license and Apple does not.
I was pretty disappointed so instead I just use my blu-ray drive to rip movies with handbrake with the AppleTV preset at max settings for playback (roughly 25GB per movie) because I can't justify a $40 add-on/license to use with my ~$70 bluray writer. You may consider the price for convenience though. BTW I was using this external LG bluray player
Bluray players are overall pretty rare on laptops.
Is this too heavy/big? It has a fast quad-core i7, dedicated 850m for gaming, a high quality IPS 1080p display, quad speakers w/ an external subwoofer and very premium build quality. If you really wanted a blu ray player you can find an external one here.
