Acrylic paint is okay for clothes but it will get hard and stiffen up, get acrylic paint and fabric medium. You put half paint, half fabric medium and it thins out the acrylic paint and basically turns it into fabric paint :)
(source: that’s how I paint on my clothes, jeans, etc.) hope this helps!

I've wanted to try pouring on a tie for a while now, I think I just might have to give it a go and report back! After some research online, it seems fabric paints are very similar in composition to acrylic paints. The main difference seems to be they are thinner/less dense, and more fluid. I'm gonna buy some fabric medium, as it appears to be the best choice for creating an acrylic pour without getting 'crunchy' on the fabric once it dries.

This one. Don’t know how effective it is as this is my first time using it, though.
