I think you need to get an endocrinologist to test you and find another doctor. 1) waiting another 6 weeks seems excessive and useless 2) you don't want a doctor who only uses TSH to test your thyroid function. You need to get you TSH, T3, T4, and antibodies tested. You may also have Hashimotos thyroiditis if you have had symptoms that long. You dont want to mess around with someone not educated this area. Hashimotos has different treatment than just pills and you may have to adjust your diet. 3) you need to get the actual numbers for the test and know the ranges. Some doctors are still using outdated ranges and won't diagnose you even if your TSH is 5ish when ranges now are much lower. (On mobile or would look up). Also each lab has a different normal range so if the doctor is just looking to see if it says its normal it might not be accurate. I had a situation where I started feeling off and my primary care doctor tested me and declared me normal and said I had depression. My endocrinologist looked at the numbers and realized I had gone to the higher end of what was normal and adjusted my thyroid medication. I felt way better.

Here is the thing, many doctors especially primary care doctors don't specialize in thyroid issues and there are many many ways that your tests can be misinterpreted. You want to educate yourself so you can ask the right questions and find doctors that can help you. You can even run into situations where endocrinologist can be lazy or zealous about some methodology.

Finally I think you are probably on the right path. It's very stressful to deal with doctors but if you push through it you will feel way better. Good luck!
