Sure thing.

  • Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz LGA 2011-v3
  • ASUS X99-A Motherboard
  • Corsair Professional Series AX860i PSU
  • Corsair Hydro h100i CPU closed loop water cooler
  • Cougar Vortex PWM CF-V12HPB fans to replace the stock h100i fans
  • Samsung 840 EVO 1TB SSD
  • NZXT S340 Mid-Tower
  • MSI GAMING 4G R9 290
  • g.skill Ripjaw DDR4 2666mhz Quad channel 16GB(4x4gb)

Lemme know if I missed something.

And the lighting is a Logisys LDXRM12C.

And here's a lame video review I did on the lighting.

those are actually 12v power adapter ones, here's a shorter one you don't have to worry about cutting the strip of: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H34FPZG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

I did not include an i7 in the build.

From what you've told me, you don't really need the i7, it won't give you a performance boost good enough that's worth the extra $100, you can use that money to get better parts which will get you better performance.

You want to get an i7 if you're into any type of editing/livestreaming/heavy coding/etc..

I did get you an overclockable CPU in order to let you OC in the future since you stated you did not plan to in the moment.

The motherboard allows you to get another GPU also, in case you feel you're not getting enough bang.

If you're that interested in LEDs I'll point you out to these two products:

Logisys RGB LED Strip with remote control - it's an LED strip that allows you to change the color with a remote control.

BitFenix Alchemy LEDs - These won't let you change the colors of the LEDs, but they're pretty good ones.

I'd tell you to look for the NZXT HUE also, but I don't know where to find it at the moment since it's out of stock on Newegg and it's too expensive on Amazon.

Yeah. Is this a good strip? It's the best and cheapest one I could find that doesn't need a motherboard with an RGB header. https://www.amazon.com/Logisys-LDXRM12C-Adhesive-Flexible-Extendible/dp/B00H34FPZG

yup it's just vinyl, it came from etsy. SUPER easy to apply and work the air bubbles out. dude that storm trooper vinyl with the h440 white would look sick for real. fyi the led system is in the link below. the white light setting and red setting are super bright and would be awesome with the storm trooper theme.

i have these lights here really easy to install but you would prolly need a few strips to light ur case up, you could also check out the nzxt hue+ a bit more expensive though.

u/BigMan7o0 · 1 pointr/buildapc

well that depends, is a single smaller strip that is actually good quality acceptable? if so get this i have it and the adhesive is actually usable, which is a miracle, as 99% of the other cheap strip have literal garbage instead of adhesive. they are bright, and the white on them is actually a much more white light than most others

Thanks for the suggestion! After some more research I found these and am going to get them for my new setup.

There are molex to LED adapters, but you can only choose one color.

Also this exists, not sure how it gets power.

Which PSU kit would you recommend instead? I can still return it and get a different one instead. As long as it isn't more expensive (or is only barely more expensive) As to the screw kit: http://www.amazon.com/iFixit-54-Bit-Driver-Kit/dp/B008KOTNVA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452799451&sr=8-1&keywords=ifixit+54-bit+driver+kit
I also bought a ground bracelet which only cost 4 dollars. Which I guess isn't worth mentioning at a price that cheap.
Finally: I bought something that will not effect the computer in any way other than make it more 'pimped out' with the color of the case. Here's what that is: http://www.amazon.com/Logisys-LDXRM12C-Adhesive-Flexible-Extendible/dp/B00H34FPZG it cost me 20 bucks.

I also failed to mention that the price I paid (after rebate) for all of this is actually $1140. $1200 is how much I paid at the store BEFORE rebate. And since the prices you mentioned were only slightly less than that (without factoring in the screw kit and lighting system which cost more than the difference) it seems to be I got a fair deal price-wise. You say I don't need this much RAM although I suppose I'll keep it anyway. I'm definitely open to switching my PSU though. Although again, it cannot be much more expensive than the one I already have, and if it's the same price (or less) that's all the better.

I also have a Brand New in Open Box, Silverstone FT03 Mini in Black with a free RGB LED Strip for only $85 shipped. Lemme know: Case Link

I got this one at first and it worked fine but then swapped to Cable Mod LEDs because I wanted more and brighter LEDs.

I know you are in RSA but if this is available there. it's worth it. it works, it's cheap and it's damn durable, 3 years now :)

Just picked this up...easy to install, looks great, $20 you cant go wrong

Other options include a remote-controlled LED setup Like this one or a Corsair Link Lightning Node that illuminates at a certain temp and running a stress-test on boot.

Think any of these will work for you /u/AngelosEirwen ?
