Wireless mice have improved a lot in the past couple of years. Increasing over time you're finding that pro players are opting to use wireless mice. The G403 and G903 are usually suggested for players who are wanting wireless mouse options.

> Mechanical or membrane keyboard?

/r/MechanicalKeyboard has in their Buying Guide page all about the different switches. There are also some suggestions that you can look at too. Mechanical keyboards are going to offer you tactile feedback, especially if you're using blue switches or browns; while also being responsive and consistent. Membranes function on pressing down on a plastic bubble until it collapses. They are much more spongy and less consistent. Are membrane keyboards bad? Nah. Mechanical keyboards do have their advantages such as requiring and precise time presses.

> Thumb buttons on my mouse?

Preference. Usually most mice at the minimum have a DPI switch plus mouse 4 and mouse 5 buttons. If you're playing MOBAs you may want to consider options with a lot more buttons.

> What size mousemat?

As large as your table can fit. The larger room that you have, the more room you have for aiming with your arm and not wrist. Since you're brand new to PC gaming you'll probably develop your own way of aiming. The larger the mouse mat you'll typically have a lot lower sensitivity.

Honestly, at the point of already spending $50, I'd probably spend the extra $25 wait for a $50 sale price for the g403 wireless. Latency, which was always my concern, is really low these days, on par with many wired mice, and battery life seems decent. Idk, some people might just not be interested in a wireless mouse though. For what it's worth, I have seen the deathadder chroma go for $35, and this mouse (deathadder elite) is quite similar to that one.

EDIT: The g403 wireless is actually on Amazon at the moment for $70 Only an extra $20, and I heard it has a similar fit/feel as the deathadder. per /u/Butt_Muff who has both, the G403 is smaller than the deathadder, so you may prefer/dislike that.

EDIT2: upon doing some BaPCS history searching, it would seem that the wireless g403 even goes as low as $50, matching this deathaddder elite sale. That pretty much confirms for me that I wouldn't play $50 for this one personally.

Edit: Because I was a Prime Member I ordered it last night, I had it on my desk by 2PM the next day.

You can also buy it for $103 on Amazon right now with free shipping, I think the extra $4 is worth it to not have to deal with NCIX and their shitty customer service, processing times and website.

Just an IMO though.

Logitech G403 Wireless

Top quality sensor and zero input lag.

u/Sid6po1nt7 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Was in the same position. Ended up getting Logitech G - G403 Prodigy & I love it. Like anything new it'll take some adjusting but not much. Tried it out at Best Buy so I'd go there to see if a demo is up & try it out.

They make a wireless one as well

This kept getting deleted:

I have 4 reliable ones in mind atm, but I'm really not sure which would best suit me.

Logitech G-Pro

Logitech G-403

Zowie FK1 or FK2

If any mice guru can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!!

No 703 there. The 403 and 703 are different mice. Wherever you got your information from, and whoever upvoted your comment, you both should know your facts first.... The 703 is an updated 403 with Powerplay. They are still different mice.

You might have seen this already, but people were discussing the issue on Super User. To sum it up, coil whine is the suspect in this case and they suggested a few potential solutions.

> Short power drain procedure

  • Remove the battery of the mouse

  • Press and hold the left and right click buttons for 15 seconds.

  • Release the buttons and place the battery back properly. If possible, replace the old ones with a new single AA NiMH rechargeable battery.

  • Check if the mouse will feature the same coil noise.

I don't know what kind of batteries people have tested this mouse with, but this looks like a start.

EDIT: Just going to throw out the G403 wireless as well if you want a more conventional shape at a higher price, I've heard some good things about the wired version in gaming contexts.

g403 wireless is still on sale BTW.

It could be another option, but I do not really have all the cards regarding taxes, local prices, etc as I'm not from US.

g403w/g703 have the same performance as the wired g403. Just a few more grams.

If you like the shape, go for it.

It's not as bad as it seems. At one point I bought a $30 wireless keyboard when my old laptop's keyboard broke and I was a complete noob at computers. It was perfectly fine for playing games, even ones that required more intensive action or reactions.

Definitely don't go my route if you want something a bit more competitive, but if just for typing, there are a lot of options around this point and higher price points. You won't find many suited for gaming though, so you'll mainly be typing on them. Anything more suited for gaming though, you'll have to go wired to find a decent keyboard.

Same goes for mice, but there are more options for gaming in the wireless category, you'll just have to pay the premium. Here's an example. The Prodigy is a decent gaming mouse compared to wired gaming mice, but you'll have to pay more.

I've Just recently bought a Logitech G403 Prodigy and so far I love it! Very simple design with some "cool RGB" if you're into that.

Might be a bit expensive for this use case:

It's from Logitech and a lot of people I know have used it for a very long while with no issues. I do not have it personally but I thought I would recommend you to look into it as it is 40$ right now.

----------

If you are looking for a CSGO mouse that will guarantee you the most precise aim you can get from a mouse, this is another logitech mouse that is absolutely amazing and has one of the best sensors on the market currently: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G403-Prodigy-Wireless-Gaming-Mouse-Performance/dp/B01KUAMCWI

It is Wired/Wireless (wired is cheaper, wireless is more). It is 80$ though so it'll be 30$ above your budget. All up to you :)

u/thefallinleaf · 1 pointr/buildapc

Here's the wireless one:

Also it appears you probably get free shipping on this too, since it's over $34.
