The Logitech G920 also available here: https://smile.amazon.com/Logitech-Driving-Force-Racing-PlayStation/dp/B00Z0UWV98?th=1

The difference between these 2 are that the G29 has the shifter lights, more buttons, and uses PS4 style buttons. G920 uses Xbox style. Both are compatible with PC.

City Car Driving is more of a Driver's Ed game than a racing game. It looks somewhat basic but has challenges like what you'll find when you take your drive test, different locations, different vehicles(mod support too) and you can tweak a bunch of driving conditions from pedestrians to weather.

City Car Driving and the wheel I use Logitech G920(shifter optional)

u/TheZestyPanda · 9 pointsr/ForzaHorizon

It’s a Logitech G920. They also have the H shifter which isn’t included but can be bought separate.

Here’s a link

u/gpshift · 8 pointsr/xboxone

If buying a wheel, get one with force feedback. It makes for a much better experience. The Logitech g920 can be found for $200 on sale frequently. I also highly suggest racing chairs to improve the overall feel. The playseat challenge can also be found for about $200 and can be folded up to store and save space. Obviously two of each would cost at least $800 alone, so you may need to up your budget a bit. Though also keep in mind that I don't believe Forza horizon supports split screen. I think Forza Motorsport does.

VR treadmills are far from consumer ready, same with controllers like Delta Six. Maybe in 5 years.

If you want great peripherals for the Rift, what you get is:

u/aliasesarestupid · 6 pointsr/assettocorsa

Are you on PC? Is the Thrustmaster T150 (PC and PS4) or Thrustmaster TMX (PC and Xbox one) too expensive? This is as budget as I'd go if you want brand new. The downside is you only get two pedals but do have paddle shifters. If this is too pricy try searching craigslist around your area for any used Logitech Driving Force GT's (two pedals, no h-shifter, but has a sequential shifter), or a Logitech g27 (three pedals, comes with h-shifter).

If you do want three pedals and an h-shifter, then I think the Logitech g29 (PC and PS4) or Logitech g920 (PC and Xbox one) are the current best value as far as brand new. With craigslist you can possibly find better deals locally, but it can be a crapshoot.

u/FEARthePUTTY · 5 pointsr/xboxone

That looks like a Logitech G920. In which case ~$250 depending if you have the shifter included. I'm currently looking into wheels -- this and the Thrustmaster TMX Pro seem like the best "budget" wheels. I'm leaning more towards the TMX Pro though, fyi.

Swiped this from Slickdeals. Any racing game fans out there? I bought one myself along with the shifter.

Here's other sites:

I might have missed something, but I don't think that's possible. Which racing game are you thinking about?

Yeah, you could get one monster PC with multiple processors and SLI, but afaik VR does not properly work with that. Multiple GPUs each running their own OS? Maybe possible, but that's too much tinkering, and not guaranteed to work at all. 4 gpus would also be too much for the board, I think.

But $20,000 is a lot of money. Let's say the four seats cost $5000, as with https://rseatamerica.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=67. The displays could cost under $1000, 4x https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF240H-bmjdpr-24-inch-FreeSync/dp/B01DHTWZRQ. For the wheels, Logitech makes good ones, though they are expensive: 4x https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Driving-Racing-Feedback-Steering/dp/B00Z0UWV98, $1500 (edit: Note the alternative recommendations in the comments to this comment, apparently this wheel is not a popular option). Keyboard 4x https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823816015, $300. The headphones, https://www.amazon.com/AKG-240-Semi-Open-Studio-Headphones/dp/B0001ARCFA is an option, $220. Though maybe you want closed ones.

That leaves for the interesting part $12000, for the PCs. And of course that is more than enough to get 4 VR capable gaming PCs:

External Storage has too many options, could be as simple as https://www.amazon.com/Book-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBFJK0060HBK-NESN/dp/B00KU686HI linked to one PC, or a real NAS system. But that would be a topic of its own.

So, given that gigantic budget possible. Practical? Well, on you to judge. You definitely want to double-check everything I wrote, it is not like I (or anyone around her, most probably) has ever created a setup such as this before.

Looks like the G29 and G920 are both $200

u/nosyrbllewe · 2 pointsr/oculus

I haven't tried the T300, but the G920 was nice.

For the prices, (according to CamelCamelCamel, a price tracker for Amazon) the T300 is at a historical low, while the G920 was cheaper just a few weeks ago (even with the Prime discount).

>I'm sorry, English isn't my first language so I have to ask: what do you mean by pitching in this context?

"Turn in sharply" is I guess the best definition I can give. The rental chassis prefer a somewhat aggressive turn in for best results since they are stiff chassis but still don't have a differential. Gentle steering will lead to understeer, but getting too aggressive could mean sliding too much and scrubbing speed.

>It's not practical for me to own large simulation hardware right now but I will look into this in a few months.

All you need is a Logitech G29/G920 wheel: https://www.amazon.com/d/Xbox-One-Game-Racing-Wheels/Logitech-Dual-Motor-Feedback-Driving-Responsive/B00Z0UWV98?th=1

Anyone that tells you that you need more than that doesn't know what they're talking about. The more expensive stuff can be nice but isn't necessary and motion rigs are just a waste IMO.

$200 for the wheel and either Gran Turismo 6 if you have a PS3 or Automobilista if you have a low spec PC and Project CARS 2 as well if you have a higher spec PC. If you can afford karting, you should be able to afford a wheel pretty easily.

So I bought a PC for my birthday back in January. Mine was custom built instead of buying a prebuilt model. I already owned a Logitech G920 wheel/pedals (I recommend for you btw, bought for $200 and quality piece by comparison). And I bought the playseat challenge sim chair off amazon as well which cost me $250. Iracing itself has multiple offers for beginners signing up to receive a free months worth of the service to try it out. I went with a 50% off 1 year subscription which cost me around $70-$80. Once you have the software downloaded, that’s all you “have” to buy. I have pumped a lot more money in it to race each discipline, with multiple cars and tracks being purchased. However you do not have to do this and many people will tell you not to (my opinion, do whatever you want that makes you happy. There’s no wrong way to approach iracing.) once you’ve downloaded the software you can run the rookie street stocks, and you might even see Dale Jr now, until you get your safety rating up high enough to begin your ascent through the licenses.

I’ve loved the service and have even bought iracing shirts off of their partnered web store.
However it can be expensive off the bat for sure, but through time the costs really diminish, as I haven’t bought content in several months. It may seem like a lot but I honestly can say it offers some of the most fun, and frustrating experiences you can’t find in other sims/games.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask! Also if you sign up shoot me a PM and I can send you my referral code and I believe we both get $10 on iracing credit!

Get a used G27 (craigslist, ebay..) if that's your budget. Here's the G29 for $240 from Amazon though

u/DudethatCooks · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Thrustmaster TMX is probably one of the best priced FFB wheels right now. The G920 is also a great option as well.

Getting a wheel isn't cheap though so if you're looking for anything that's listed cheaper than the TMX I'd refrain from it and save your money.

u/archnog · 2 pointsr/oculus

i was never a fan of racing games until i got my Rift. Old me would have laughed at the thought of spending hundreds of dollars on a "toy wheel." Well, i've been sucked in. Project Cars is tons of fun (Assetto Corsa as well), but be warned, it will tax your graphics card. With my OC 980ti I've had to tone down the settings a bit with med/low to get a stable 90fps. I dont have the space for a static driving cockpit/rig, so I got a Wheel Stand Pro to accompany my Logitech G920 wheel and shifter. It's not quite compact, but does fold up and can be easily moved to the corner and out of the middle of my office. A big plus. The wheel is nice and provides a decent level of feedback. I'm no pro when it comes to wheels and accessories, but I have been pleased. The wheel and shifter are a bit pricey, but i was able to find a deal on a good used one on ebay.

I can get a new set on Amazon for $283 with Prime shipping. The used listings from Amazon Warehouse are between $240-250 for open-box items, and even after tax that's only $260-270.

I also need the shifter too, and would rather not have to get them separately unless I can get a good deal on it elsewhere.

u/ypeelS · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

Just a heads up but the G920 is currently $188 on Amazon right now. It doesnt include the shifter but for being a brand new, upgraded version, its awfully close to your price.

u/TheRainbowNoob · 1 pointr/iRacing

Hey thanks! So if I'm looking for a wheel, I should look for something like this? I'll have to save up a bit for it, so I think I'll just get by with a controller for now and get a wheel later. Again thanks for the quick response!

u/BeholdGlory · 1 pointr/farmingsimulator

I would recommend against the farming sim wheel and go with something like the Logitech G920/G29. Just because it will be more compatible with other games such as Euro Truck Sim or other driving games. I also HIGHLY recommend TrackIR if you get a wheel. Using the mouse to look around is a major pain in the dick (trust me I did it for years).

Here's my setup right now. On the left I have a joystick I use for loader controls and stuff.

You're probably better off trying to fix it. You won't find a "worthy" replacement for $150-$200.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like there is a huge sale on the G29's right now. That might be worth your consideration.

Trust me, pedals are not optional. Racing wheels also aren't cheap. Only the shifter can really be compromised on, games should all support flappy paddle shifting.

Logitech G29 is the cheapest new option that is decent.
