Joystick!!!!!!!!! I've been using an old logitech wingman force 3d for a long time. Bonus, I have twist function fools! Could probably get away with never actually touching the keyboard except for some rarely used mech functions.
My stick was this one a Logitech Wingman Force 3D. I don't remember what happened to it, but the motor felt flimsy when it would kick in. Sometimes I thought I might break it.
