The last time they had this, most of the products sold out within hours. Here are some of the best deals:

Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse with 250 Hour Battery Life $44.99: Amazing mouse with a battery that never dies, I own one and would not go back to wired ever again.

Logitech G510s Gaming Keyboard $59.99: A feature non-mechanical keyboard for someone more interested in looks, and their display system. Also has different colored RGB backlighting, something that is just now coming to mechanical keyboards.

Logitech Gamepad F310 $12.50: A great wired gamepad, makes any racing or indy game feel much better.

Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 with 7.1 Surround Sound $69.99: Wireless with 7.1, looks great, and has a lot of positive reviews. Costs as much on sale as the G430 is full price.

Logitech Wireless All-In-One Keyboard TK820 with Built-In Touchpad $49.99: One of their new products, makes for couch browsing a lot easier.

This is how you design a pair of $120 headphones.. the pin in the G930 is huge. It's also much wider, so the pin won't wear out nearly as fast as a tiny pin, with a very narrow bushing.

u/ChampKindsCowboyHat · 6 pointsr/bodybuilding

any of you bros on here a gamer? I got these Logitech G930 in a raffle and do not play Pc based games. Whoever messages me first can have them at the cost of shipping. Only downside is the box is kinda fucked because it's been in my closet and moved around a bit. They are brand new other than that.

u/ChibiLlama · 6 pointsr/buildapc

I'm a big fan of my Logitech, which I got for about $60. It's wireless.

The biggest complaint I hear about it is it's battery life, but the cord that comes with it is a decent length, so if you're not going to be too far from your pc most of the time, it's not a dealbreaker.

If you ever were to look into another wireless "gaming" headset, I can strongly recommend the [Logitech G930] (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B003VANOFY/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1405227700&sr=1-1&keywords=g930). I'm sure they don't sound as great as the Seinnheisers but they are wireless, and the lightest headset I've ever worn. Very comfortable for long periods of time, which usually happens when gaming.

But NOTHING can come close to Sennheiser sound.

So I bought a new wireless headset from Amazon that had the promo tag on it, (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VANOFY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) however I never got the code. Amazon chat told me a few minutes ago that the item wasn't fulfilled by Amazon so it doesn't count, so I'm hoping senpai notices me :P

My MMO life hasn't been too long, roughly 8 years or so. I'm a huge fan of FF, and played just about every game in the franchise except for XI...so I picked it up and it was so much fun, but really really quiet. I started the game maybe 5-6 years after launch, so there really wasn't anyone to play with, not even considering that I joined right when Abyssea came out, which coincidentally was when much of the population left the game.

When rumors of XIV came out, I was so excited. The biggest thing for me was that I could finally play a FF MMO on the same playing level field as other players, and I could actually do and play content while it was new. I always hated that I was "left behind" in XI, so this was a big deal for me.

I partook in the beta test for 1.0 and was there the day the game launched and continued to stay, even while others I met and played with in the game left. While others griped about the game and how bad it was, I was looking around looking at everyone like they were crazy - because I really loved the game and it was MUCH MUCH better than XI IMO. I also really really liked the changes Yoshi and his team brought to 1.0 even though I understood the game I grew to love was going to come to an end one day.

Yoshi and his team had done a really good job to pull those who really paid attention to the world and lore together (not including all of the special "hidden" surprises as time continued to tick away) so The Calamity felt immersive, and it was pretty special. You could feel the tension in the air while we were all waiting in Mor Dhona for the Empire on that last day....then the servers went down and we were greeted with "the end of an era" trailer - perfect ending. Tears were shed. I was devastated. NO game could ever come close to this experience.

Fast forward a few years and I still play every day, slowly making more progress. I recently got my 240 relic (BRD) on Friday, and my static recently cleared AM6 (for the FIRST TIME after 11 weeks) last Monday, and again on Tuesday, so even though I am a "legacy" player, I'm still celebrating milestones... even almost 5 1/2 years in.

I love this game very much and I have lot of hope for the future. Yoshi P and his team really do seem to listen to what the players want (contradictory to what most would believe) and I believe it shows. I think our best days are ahead of us in this game and I can't wait to see what the expansion has to offer.

G930's are wireless headsets, so the cut cable can be replaced with any microUSB cable.

u/painesgrey · 5 pointsr/parrots

Hiya!

I'm a gamer and parront, and can say that loud birdy squawks can sometimes be an issue when I'm trying to communicate. I typically use Discord, but your toolkit might vary depending on what you're using to talk to your team.

I'm currently using this headset, and get few complaints about the birds. Granted, I am always on push-to-talk, so there's no risk of the birdy squawks activating my microphone. If push-to-talk isn't an option, look into your micrphone sensitivity settings (both in the program and in your OS) and reduce them a bit. Hopefully this will make it less likely that little chirps will activate and open the micrphone for all to hear.

Also, give them something else to do with their beaks. Chop, a bit of millet, or a long-lasting foraging toy might help keep them occupied while your SO is gaming.

u/Xeppo · 5 pointsr/buildapcsales

For the record, Newegg and Amazon have the cordless version of this (G930) for only $10 more. Original price $159.99. Better deal, in my opinion.

Amazon has the g930 for $70 and it's live already.

u/PoohBear-in-The100AW · 5 pointsr/GWABackstage

When you say it has to be USB, are you saying a DAI (Digital Audio Interface) and XLR mic is out of the question? It's definitely more expensive, but the DAI typically connects via USB, and allows you to record straight into the computer. I wouldn't consider this route, however, if you don't plan on doing a lot of recording.

Now if you mean it has to be something akin to the Snowball or Yeti, then I'll give you what I used, and realize you can easily go up from there. I used to use (and still sometimes do) the Logitech G930 Wireless Headset, and it's around 7 years old. I've EQed the headset and paired it with a program call VoiceMeter Banana.

A brief note: I don't recommend, nor I would I be adverse to recommending VMB; it just overrides some sound drives, and can cause a bit of messiness. I can't know how savvy any one person is, so I don't personally recommend programs unless the community as a whole accepts it.

Anyway back to business. This turned my barely audible, tinny sounding voice into what sounded like a real person, and not like I was using soup can communication. The price listed for that headset is way off and not worth more than $40; Logitech discontinued it. You can get a solid USB mic, shock absorber, and quality headphones for a little over $100 or more.

The Snowball and Yeti are two of the most common recommendations I see, but I personally know nothing about them. Sometimes these threads can be buried quickly, so I wanted to jump in, offer what I could, and hopefully people with better knowledge can fill in the rest.

E: I appreciated the humor of the $200 mic being the best. As Bender would say, "Put a 1 and two 0s after that, and we got a deal." (that might be slight hyperbole)

u/DukeFlukem · 4 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I recommend Logitech g930 or Corsair because they seem to be the most reliable and best value right now. You can get Creative wireless headsets for around the same price but they have much worse sound quality. You can also get very slightly better sounding wireless headphones for about 2-3x the price if you think it's worth it.

u/Bigernoi · 4 pointsr/buildapc

I picked these up for $80 a few months back. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B003VANOFY

I recently went through this same decision making process. Maybe I have poor hearing and just can't tell the difference but I've never been able to buy into the idea of paying a huge premium for "higher quality" audio. Instead I tend to lean towards applying those funds to increase the functionality that I find important.

When I started my search I had the following requirements that I was willing to pay more for.

-Comfort. I typically game for 1-2 hours at a time and have found that for me a lot of headsets can become uncomfortable in that time period. The cheaper they are the quicker this seemed to happen.

-Wireless. I can't stand gaming on the PC or console and having to find some place to move the headset cable to get it out of the way but still provide enough slack so I can move without it going taunt and pulling the ear cup it's attached to.

-Integrated microphone. This was a tough one. I chat using my PC, XBOX and PS3 while gaming and did not want to have to mess with changing audio inputs depending on what I was doing. I wanted something that was relatively seamless while retaining the wireless capability.

I did a lot of research online narrowing down my options before I committed to buying anything. With my initial budget of ~$150.00 I was not able to meet all the requirements listed above. My search had narrowed down my options to two headsets which I felt got as close as possible to meeting everything I wanted. I purchased and tried out the Tritton TRIAX-720 and Logitech G930's. I found both to be very uncomfortable and ended up returning them (thanks Amazon return policy).

After the experience with these two headsets I decided to increase my budget. This lead me to what I would ultimately purchase, the Turtle Beach PX5. The Turtle Beach headset has been able to meet all of my requirements above and I am absolutely in love with them.

-Comfort. They're very light without feeling cheap. The other headsets I've tried have all been a little on the heavy side which caused them to become uncomfortable quickly.

-Wireless. It uses 2.4GHz wireless which can cause a problem with some people due to interference with routers and other devices. I have my wireless router about 20 feet away through 2 walls and have never had any problems.

-Integrated Microphone. This headset was able to get me as close as possible to a completely seamless microphone setup between all three systems. The headset can pair with up to two Bluetooth devices. This covered the connectivity with the PS3 and PC (via USB Bluetooth dongle), but I was forced to use the chat cable between the headset and the XBOX controller. The large majority of my gaming related chatting has been on the XBOX recently (Call of Duty) and I couldn't stand this cable. Luckily Turtle Beach released a Bluetooth dongle you can buy which plugs into the microphone port on the XBOX controller and can be paired with the PX5 headset. Given I don't use my PS3 nearly as often to chat I purchased this dongle and paired the XBOX to it.

If you've read this far and are still interested here is how I have everything them setup.

I'm routing my consoles and computer (video and audio) through a 3 port auto sensing HDMI switcher which is plugging into a Samsung SyncMaster P2450 monitor. I'm then using the two audio outputs of the monitor to send audio to my speakers (through the analog output) and the Turtle Beach PX5 Transmitter (through the optical output).

Whenever I power on my XBOX or PS3 the HDMI switcher auto senses the new input and places the video on my primary monitor (the Samsung) and routes the audio out through the speakers and to the Turtle Beach transmitter. On my PC I'm using the DVI port on the video card for a second monitor so when I switch on the XBOX or PS3 the PC sees the HDMI port as "inactive" and routes the primary display to the secondary monitor. This is a seamless transition and makes it super convenient to browse the web to look up info on the game I'm playing, when loading times are long or between matches. When I'm done using the XBOX or PS3 I power it off and the HDMI switcher reverts to the last active HDMI input (almost always my PC). The PC sees the HDMI port go active and the primary monitor switches back to it.

Between the PX5's and the Bluetooth dongle my initial budget of $150 turned into right at $250 but I'm very pleased with the headset its functionality and how it's been able to integrate so well with my gaming setup.

She did not address it. No prices were changed, she was just shown a different listing when she was logged in. This is fine, on average the Prime listing will be cheaper because it has free shipping, but of course you should always check the lower-priced items to make sure. If the author had clicked the "13 new" link or the "lower-priced buying choices" link while logged into Prime, she would have found the same listing she got when she wasn't logged in.

I'll give you an example, using this random product. When logged into Prime, it gives me a price of $109.00, with free Prime shipping. But what's this? When I click "61 new", I see I can get it for $98.50 from Genuine Supply Depot, with $5.49 shipping. Well that's obviously a better offer. Are they ripping me off, or changing prices? No, they're just showing me the lowest Prime offer, which is often the best option, but not always. I am free to check offers outside the Prime program, which are sometimes cheaper, but aren't shipped by Amazon.

If I look at this same product when not logged into Prime, I see a different price, $108.09. It's the cheapest option in their Super Saver Shipping program, and the cheapest listing shipped by Amazon for someone without Prime. Again, there are cheaper listings shipped by other people that I can look at, and those are the same whether or not I'm logged into Prime.

Massdrop has some shitty deals some times, and this is one of them after $8 shipping, there is no way it is worth saving such a small amount and waiting half a month to get them.

u/Conpen · 3 pointsr/pcgaming

I know this is $15 over budget, but I own these and am very impressed. Very comfy and long wireless range. Virtual surround works well for FPS games. Battery lasts a while too.

Logitech G930

Keep in mind if you are in an apartment and there's lots if WiFi networks then your experience with wireless headsets will not be a good one.

u/Foolbird · 3 pointsr/buildapc

Has anyone had interference between their in-case wireless adapter and wireless headphones? I'm thinking of getting these but I keep hearing about people with problems involving the signal breaking up due to their wireless signals.

I'm thinking of just getting the wired version. Or are there any 7.1 headphones that have good build quality and won't break near where the earpiece connects?

u/rlmcfall · 3 pointsr/pcmasterrace

So $80 for a pair of Logitch 930 is a "huge price tag"? I mean just the other day I bought some skullcandys from Best Buy (Yes I know its not a bargain place) and they where $90 total. They are fantastic, they also came with a microphone. I just really dislike that title. Ha.

MMO-Champion does a monthly/bi-monthly computer setup comprised of 4 levels of pricing. Last one was on June 2nd. That should be a good place to start at least! :)

I'm thinking about getting THIS soon too.

u/OJNeg · 3 pointsr/audiophile

Agreed.

My brother is by no means an audiophile, but he is heavily into gaming and programming. He uses these with his laptop. I've tried them on a few times and they are reasonably comfortable albeit on the heavy side. They are also wireless, with volume control and a microphone, all of which fits the OP's requirements. The sound quality is very average, but he doesn't mind. So you could definately find something a lot better in the audiophile realm for <$100. I'd suggest the OP just get some cheapies for now until he's ready to graduate into the realm of audiophilia.

u/lifebinder · 3 pointsr/AskTechnology

I am assuming you have either this clearchat headset or this gaming set (or something similar). The USB dongles for headsets will operate as their own soundcards. As such, it is not possible to do what you are looking for. With that said, they are respectable sound cards in their own right; They will faithfully recreate most sounds, and only hardcore audiophiles looking at waveform profiles will note any shortcomings.

If instead, you are looking to only routing certain sound through the headset, please look at the Default Communications Device profile in Windows, and use custom audio settings for any games or programs you want specifically routed through the headset.

Still not very cheap by comparison but it's wireless so you can walk around your house with them on. The sound and bass are good for music or games, and you can control the tracks of your chosen media player with the buttons on the ear piece.

Sennheiser PC 350 - £105

Logitech G930 - £90

SteelSeries Siberia v2 - £69

Razer Blackshark - £90

Corsair Vengeance 2100 - £118

Take your pick. I've arranged the headsets in order of my experiences with the brands and their other audio products (not necessarily those specific models). They'll each have their own sound quality and characteristics, and that's something you'll have to research, but their mics should all be about the same good quality. As for durability, just take care of them (i.e. hang them up when not in use and don't run over the cord with your computer chair) and they should last quite a few years.

Also, The Logitech G930 and the Corsair Vengeance 2100 sets do have wired versions in case you prefer that over wireless. The wired version for the Logitech is the G35 (£85) and the Corsair is the 1500 v2 (£89)

What's your budget for a headset? The Logitech G930 is on a HUGE sale for the next 3 hours. I paid $160 for mine 3 years ago. I did finally replace it after 2 years due to diminishing battery life, but it was great for the years I used it. I bound one of the side buttons to ventrilo push to talk and would walk around the house talking to my guild (sometimes went outside and smoked a cigarette, the range is long). Seriously, at it's current price, I'd buy 2 if I were you and test both and put one back in the box until you destroy your first one. I used mine on average 12 hours a day for 2+ years before I managed to kill it.

If you have more money to spend, get the Astro A50. Much higher quality than the G930, but you pay out the ass for it. I got the wired version, which is the Astro A40, and it's really an amazing headset, but I really, really wish I spent the extra on an A50, because once you go wireless, it's SO hard to go back.

u/spdrstar · 2 pointsr/buildapc

These are really nice! I used the plantronics 380's for a while and ATH-M50's along with a cheap mic after that. This is by far my favorite of the three! Wireless is super convenient and it has a volume roller along with 3 programmable buttons you can set to anything. It also has emulated surround sound which is fun to play with sometimes. I highly recommend it if you can afford them!

To add to this, the Logitech G930 are selling for a really good price right now on Amazon ($85). They are around $20.00 more at other reputable sites like Newegg.

These work really well. At $120, they are too expensive. Maybe if they were on sale for $80. The mic arm will eventually wear out and hang down in front of your face, but all you need to do is tighten a screw underneath the left ear piece. Other than that, the battery lasts for a solid 6-8 hours and when it dies, you can still charge and play at the same time.

u/GMan129 · 2 pointsr/gamingpc

I use the Strix 7.1 for gaming, and like to have a wireless set for VoIP.

The Logitech G930s aren't the best sound quality you can find at that price, but are definitely the best wireless set. They also have good sidetone so you can hear yourself while talking, which can be helpful in loud games with lots of people in voice chat.

If you want to throw down a little more cash the G933s are their new flagship are absolutely superb quality for the price IMO (friend owns them and I borrowed for a couple days).

I should point out that both of these sets have a 7.1 virtual surround switch, and most of the negative reviews are people completely misunderstanding how and when to use it. Or they have left the sidetone on during a solo gaming sesh and complain they can hear everything going on around them in their house. No shit!

Yeah if you switch 7.1 on in something that isn't a 7.1 source like League of Legends or iTunes, it's going to sound cavernous and tinny because it's using some algorithm to up-mix it. In games with 7.1 they sound great though.

u/Manfred1816 · 2 pointsr/battlefield3

I have a set of Logitech G930 headphones, and I love them. The sound quality is phenomenal (for my standards, at least). The mic is affixed to the headset, and all you have to do to mute it is push it up or set a mute button. It is wireless, but also has the ability to play wired, and it continues to charge while playing. I have had no issues with the sound while playing wireless. It has a USB connector that I have plugged into my keyboard, so maybe having it such short range is making a difference; I really don't know. The only con I can think of is after a few hours of gaming, they start to feel a bit heavy. Don't get me wrong, there is some great padding, but I can feel their weight after a long session.

u/phishbot · 2 pointsr/counterstrike

I have a Logitech G930 and I love it!

The sound is great, and the mic is noise cancelling. It's got some great controls on the side that let you easily change volumes, or bind to game-specific actions. I picked it up on sale for $65 at Staples with a coupon. Highly recommended!

u/mr_roo · 2 pointsr/headphones

Wireless and decent sound quality don't really go together. A wired headphone at any equivalent wireless price point will almost always sound better, no wireless frequency can transfer sound as good as copper wire.

I strongly recommend a nice set of headphones (see recommendations link in side bar) and a separate mic. I use a zm-mic1.

But if you must have wireless, Sennheiser makes some not so terrible products. RS 120

Logitech G930 and Corsair Vengeance 2000 are both decent build quality, sound is okay, and the mic's are fixed, but do rotate away.

u/Rcmike1234 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

My brother bought that same headset, Vectras right? Anywho, I found that they are WAY base heavy and have nearly no balance. If you want a headset that will fit your ears these fit my gigantic ears. If you can't afford the wireless pair, check out the wired G35s. I have found them for way cheaper than 160. Here they are for 100 bucks.

If you ever get up the funds I suggest them. I rolled over them with my chair on accident and cracked it. Contacted Logitech and sent them of the next day for a new pair.

I dunno.

Thats what I use and I love it! comfortable and surround sound, also has some fun little voice changers.

u/lirakis · 2 pointsr/VOIP

this man knows what he's talking about ;)

In general, in my opinion, headsets that are created specifically for VoIP use are generally garbage, for the reasons /u/the_real_swk said 8khz mono (maybe 16khz). That is going to sound like crap compared to even the cheapest stereo usb headset when you are using anything but pstn calling. If all you do is PSTN calls and you want cell phone quality ... a VoIP headset is right for you, otherwise get a gaming headset.

I personally use the Logitech G930. It's super convenient to have wireless, and in general I would say it's a great value. I have a Sennheiser dw Pro 2 (a $350 wireless voip headset) and it sounds like trash compared to the G930's.

u/xXFlyguy373Xx · 2 pointsr/buildapcforme

Since OP will still have $200 left over swap out that monitor for this 1440p overclockable monitor. Then maybe get a Logitech G930 that's wireless and has 7.1 surround sound.

u/PM-SOME-TITS-GURL · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Really can't recommend the ATH-M50x enough. I know they're a bit over your budget, but they are top tier introductory level headphones, just like a fine wine, the longer you have these the better they get.

After ~40-60 hours of burn-in time these things are going to sound ammmmaazzzzinng. I used mine for nearly 3 years before I upgraded to something more enthusiast grade in the $400 range. And even then I still use my M50s every day for listening to music at work.

Edit: Op, my bad, I read right over the fact you're looking for surround sound capable headphones. I have several friends who bought this pair of headphones together when they had a sale going, and all three of them swear by how great the overall sound stage is. And apparently they are non-virtualized, multi speaker driven surround sound. The reviews on amazon don't look promising, but my buddies insist that they've never had a run in with the series of complaints people have on amazon. So your mileage may very.

I personally use the Logitech G930. I used to play with regular 5.1 Surround Sound but it kept happening that I simply did not hear rats swinging (the "swoosh"), Packmasters from behind or sometimes even Assassins (still happens, but it's more like a bug now).

I feel Cata is not just about movement or positioning, but more about being aware of your surroundings. You don't get downed during NM, right? But on Cata you do. Simply because you can't take many hits on Cata, often it's only 3 before you're downed.

Imho there are 3 necessities on Cata.

  1. Constantly look around. This (and #2) is what brought me through all maps on Cata without even using headphones. You can only kill rats that you see. So make sure you see all rats around you. A above-average FOV (I play on 90) helps. I still do this a lot, and you can see that I rarely keep my sight steady. I swing around and move my mouse A LOT in high pressure situations. This (18:15 - 20:33) is an example. Look at my HP - I play better & more focused under pressure. In fact I didn't get hit once. (This clutching is why I still play Vermintide - tight situations are an adrenaline rush, over and over again.)

  2. Set player outlines to "always on" (not just "on") and activate subtitles so you can READ special callouts and understand them correctly. Our heroes call out specials even though you didn't see them yet. Kerillian mentiones a hookrat? Look at where she is facing and you'll know where the hook is, even though you didn't see it yet. Every special has a trick. Hook callouts are line of sight. Gas Rat callouts are hearing cone + hearing radius. Assassin callouts are line of sight + hearing radius. Ratlings are weird, like a mix of seeing cone & hearing radius. jsat did an amazing video of the science behind special callouts a while ago.

  3. Use headphones. Honestly, they help a shit ton. You will actually hear Gas Rats behind you. Or that one fckn rat that always hides in the darkness, right after the beginning of Horn of Magnus in the very first street. Learn to understand where a special is. Sure, you have to know the map so you can understand behind which corner the gas rat is, but you should've played all maps often enough already.

So let's say you do all this, and you still get hit. The next step is to think about why.

  • What did you do wrong?
  • Where did you get hit? In the open? In a corner? From behind? From your front?
  • What could have you done to avoid it?
  • What was the reason you didn't see a rat that hit you?

And yes, the game likes to spawn 2-3 rats behind you, constantly. To keep you on your toes. Vermintide is a bitch, and Cataclysm is the mack.

I bought a Logitech G930 and I love it. It's wireless through USB. Battery lasts maybe 10 hours and the audio quality is great. I didn't mind having a cord attached when I had one, but the convenience of the wireless is so nice, I don't think I could go back any time soon.

Edit: $120 on Amazon.

u/MoltenSlowa · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

I can only speak to what I've used, but I have the Logitech G430 headphones for my laptop and travel. They're very comfortable and lightweight, and have a very long cable. The Logitech G930s are the wireless version if you need that too. No complaints with them, but I do recommend using Overwatch's dolby atmos sound option instead of Logitech's 7.1 sound drivers.

I also use the AKG K240 headphones that are the lightest and most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. I sometimes forget that they're on sometimes! Great sound, but they are headphones only and you will need a separate microphone.

u/Trasmus · 2 pointsr/pcgaming

Of the research I did do, I read about the Zalman mic indicated it would have the EXACT problem I'm experiencing now. Since it is omni-directional, people can hear EVERYTHING around me. This is exactly what i was trying to avoid. it literally says right on the amazon product description (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B003VANOFY/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1372388552&sr=1-1&keywords=g930) "noise canceling boom mic: reduces background noise" so I'm wondering what the fuck is going on with my headset.

u/MalenkoMC · 2 pointsr/battlefield_4

Keep an eye on these on Amazon and they will go down in price from time to time. I eventually got mine for $70 (during their logitech sale). Happy hunting!

u/AngelZiefer · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I got these for Christmas, and I love them. They work great and have amazing noise cancellation and surround sound. I only just found out they go for $150, but apparently they're on sale for $100. I dunno if that's cheap for headsets haha.

u/NiBuch · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Not seeing much that's compelling besides the Logitech G930s at $59 and the Syba SATA controllers at $22.

A lot of the components are around the same price as the items go for new.

Check out this one if you want wireless: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003VANOFY

And this one if you are ok with wired: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001O5CCQK

u/Netscape9 · 2 pointsr/KotakuInAction

Just saw your first video and not bad. I would recommend boosting the volume a bit, so that it can be heard clearly at around ~20% standard volume. There is also a bit of noise in the background, but that isn't really an issue (and could be mic related). I would recommend using Audacity to clear up audio and especially for boosting audio. If you're doing critique like Sargon, Harmful Opinions and others, then Windows Movie Maker should be fine for your work.

The mic I'm using right now is a SADES A30S. I used to use a wireless Logitech G930, but found that my current wired mic is actually much better for recording. Compare this on my old mic to this on my new mic.

u/ITXorBust · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

You'll get much much more bang for your buck out of a separate mic and headset. The previously mentioned ATH-M20x and Blue Snowball is a reasonable combo. I'd recommend spending more on the headphones, since all your voice will get compressed into oblivion on VOIP anyway, so, your experience > your teammates. If you're using it for recording Twitch streams or something like that, maybe up your budget.

If you really want a decent quality headset, consider something like this: http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/headphones/52332493547a2ed1/index.html

One last thing to consider is that if you're in the market for virtual surround sound, Dolby Headphone is the best and it's generally only available by purchasing a corresponding headset. So, as a combined item, and with virtual surround sound, probably this: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Surround-Headphones-Microphone/dp/B003VANOFY/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1474643564&sr=1-4&keywords=logitech+dolby+headphone

I have been using Logitech G930 ($90 on Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VANOFY) for the last year and they're really great. Being able to run to the kitchen or flip laundry between games and keep talking to my party is awesome. It has 3 buttons on the side that you can use for anything you want (I have 1 bound to in-game PPT, so I can talk when I'm away from the computer). Also, the ear cups are big and sit around your ears, so they aren't uncomfortable if you do long gaming sessions.

u/Factknowhow · 1 pointr/buildapc

It seems new. Like, there aren't any scratches or scuffs and everything was in the plastic with the original boxing. The build quality seems low, though. The plastic is flimsy and makes rattling sounds. I'm worried I bought them from a bad seller, but they're on Amazon and they're prime. I thought that because they were expensive that they'd be good quality headphones, but maybe not. I might have just been jibbed.

And an update on what I've figured out so far: it seems like they never implemented support for Windows 10 for these headphones. And, to their credit, the Amazon listing doesn't list Windows 10 as one of the supported operating systems, only vista, 7, and 8. And the buzzing only happens when the headset is charging. Also, charging is weird in general. It seems like the headset is constantly turning on and off while plugged in.

I've already submitted a ticket on the Logitech support site. I've had dealings with them before (none too great) but I can still hope.

Here's the amazon listing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003VANOFY

Interesting, I've always been unsure about stand alone mics, fearing that they would get noise, keyboard sounds and even some feedback if i decide to use my main speakers instead of the headset.

Concur on music helping code. I suggest soundtracks, they are purpose written to keep your interest in something but not take the focus. Daft Punk's Tron soundtrack is some of my favorite coding music.

I use two different pairs. Bought myself a Logitech G930 on a black friday special, really like the microphone automute features and controls on the ears. Were originally my work cans, currently in my home office.

My company went jabber/skype and they bought us Plantronics Voyagers. The ANC feature is surprisingly useful on these things, as is the ability to simultaneously connect with computer and mobile phone.

What do you guys think of the Logitech G930's for $69.99?
Hear me out:

I already have 558's, but when I'm using my Oculus Rift (Head Mounted Display for those unfamiliar), having three wires (Rift, 558, and Zalman mic) starts getting messy and tangled while playing. Normally I wouldn't have considered these, but seeing them that cheap got me thinking they might not be too bad for when I'm using the Rift (also would make me less nervous than when I demo the Rift to people and they have my 558's on!)

This isn't something I need, the price just seems pretty good considering the normal markup you see on wireless cans.

I am looking into buying my first pair of nice headphones to replace my gaming headset. I currently use a Logitech G930 which is nice but doesnt have the sound quality I thought it did (recently tried a friend's nice pair of sennheiser headphones and was blown away at the difference. I cant recall model right now, sorry). I looked in the buying guide on the sidebar and picked out the CAL! 2. I plan on using them at home on my gaming computer and on my phone/laptop for music. It having a built in mic is also a bonus.

I have 3 questions regarding my situation.

  1. Do i need to buy any sort of amp or other peripherals ( forgive my lack of knowledge im fairly new at this) to get the most out of these?

  2. I was looking at buying this splitter as recommended by amazon for use on my computer with a mic. Will using that cable degrade sound quality at all?

  3. Will the built in "sound booster" on my motherboard(MSI Z97 Gaming 5) do anything for me or should I simply ignore those features? With that is ther any other sort of software I should be using to manage the sound from my computer?
u/TheKitty · 1 pointr/AskGames

I really like the logitech g930 and have been using mine since 2010. There's a wired version, the g35, that seems to be nearly the same price right now on amazon because of some sale. Very comfortable but a bit big. The earphone part goes completely around my ear so it's never pushing it down. The wireless battery is usually 10-12 hours and it comes with a little station for charging so if you keep it close you can just plug it in when it gives you a little beep warning. Microphone works great. The only problem I have had is due to age the stuff that covers the foam around the ears is wearing away and leaves behind a black residue. I scraped all the stuff away but I'm pretty mean to this headset after nearly 3 years of use it's still working. When this one finally goes, I have every intention on replacing it with another g930.

Logitech G930 Wireless with USB recharge (can run plugged in) for $99

Logitech G430 Wired, USB for $65

Both are 7.1 Surround, super comfortable, and the mic quality is spot on.

The Logitech Software suite is also very nice and easy to use.

The wireless range and quality on the G930 is top notch. I've been using mine for around 18 months. I recently replaced the ear pads for $8 and they're good as new. They also take a beating, built very sturdy.

u/abrazilianinreddit · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget - Around $150

Source - Desktop

Requirements for Isolation - Indoor use, some isolation is appreciated (but not required).

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - No.

Preferred Type of Headphones - Full-sized, but I am open to other types. No microphone.

Preferred tonal balance - I guess I like a deeper bass, but it shouldn't drown the rest of the sounds... It will be mostly used for gaming, music and the occasional movie/series.

Past headphones - Logitech G930

Preferred Music - Rock, heavy metal, classical, pop

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - "Better sound quality", I don't really know how to translate that in more technical terms... Surround sound would be very welcome. Wireless would also be welcome, but a detachable cable is more than enough. Also very important: comfort. I use my headphones everyday for prolonged times (4 hours or more) and I wear glasses, so it's quite common that the sides of my head where the glasses rest gets painful after a while with the headphones on. Avoiding that would be very appreciated. Durability is also important, I'd like for this headphone to last for at least 3 years, hopefully 5 or more.

The Logitech G930 is amazing. Gaming, Music, and videos sound great, Bass is amazing and the clarity is the best ive ever heard on a headset, not to mention you can switch from 7.1 Surround to stereo on the fly.. I couldn't imagine why you'd want to for anything anyway.. plus the software is pretty easy to use. It's wireless and i can use it just fine from halfway across the house. (Good for cooking and jamming to music :P)

It's on sale right now on amazon and some other websites for roughly $70 USD (Full price is $160 USD.) http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B003VANOFY

Hell... that's a better deal than what i bought MINE for at Best Buy for $80+tax.

For horror games... F.E.A.R 1 and 2 were pretty good. Scared the bajesus out of me a hell of a lot in 2. But usually everyone has them in their steam inventories anyway. I'd say just get him a Steam card if it's available where you live if you want to give him more games :P

I've heard the Logitech G930 is pretty good. It's a bit more than your $60 budget though, and I would definitely read the reviews about it (I've heard it has an issue with disconnecting sometimes). There's a wired version (The G35) that might be less prone to those issues.

I personally use the Wireless Gold from Sony though, haven't had much issue with it.

Sorry this will be a lot of information, but when you're buying something that sits on your ears for hours at a time, you want something that feels good.

Newegg has the Gamecom 780 on sale right now for 28 bucks. They usually float around 50-60 bucks so it's a really good deal. The only problem with them is they're not very drop friendly as they're plastic. The audio and mic quality are amazing for the price though.

If wireless is more his speed a Corsair H2100 is in your price range or a Logitech G930. I just recently bought a Corsair VOID on sale for 95 bucks and it was the best decision I've made in a long time, best wireless headset I've used. (but normal price is about 120)

Links:

Gamecom 780 priced 27.99

Corsair H2100 priced 99.99

Logitech G930 priced 84.36

Corsair VOID wireless priced 129.99

Pro's and Cons:

Gamecom 780

  • Pro: One of the best gaming headsets in the $50 range.
  • Pro: Easy to setup software, buttons on headset are easy to reach and use
  • Con: Very prone to breaking, if they fall the wrong way, they're toast
  • Con: Wired, I belive a 6 foot cable. Very limiting in distance (if you buy one of these buy a USB extension as well)

    Corsair H2100

  • Pro: Very good entry wireless headset, clear mic audio and decent sound quality
  • Pro: Wireless so no cables in the way
  • Con: Battery life
  • Con: Distance is short before cutout

    Logitech G930

  • Pro: Easy to use and reliable
  • Pro: Good range on headset (longer than H2100 and roughly same as VOID)
  • Pro: Build quality is nice, audio quality is decent
  • Con: Wireless receivers die before the headset does (will start with randomly dropping connection)
  • Con: Mic gets white noise in it
  • Con: Not very loud/Charge doesn't last long

    Corsair VOID RGB

  • Pro: Strong build quality, clear mic, great battery life
  • Pro: Good quality audio, can go very loud, bass drivers are decent
  • Pro: Long range, Similar to G930
  • Con: Software interferes with some other programs currently, Corsair is working on a fix (The headset does not require the software, it is just used to control simulated surround sound and lighting)
  • Con: Feels loose on your head, the mesh fabric makes it slide against your hair
  • Con: Users have reported turning on/off the headset can sometimes put the headset into a failed mode, and require being plugged into the computer to fix (i have not experienced this and could have been fixed in a firmware update already)

EDIT: since everyone else is turning you towards turtle beach, i had some (rather pricey) before the logitech G930. Absolute horse shit. The cable was annoying as fuck and there was WAY to much bass. you can turn that down or up on the logitech headphones btw, but never go turtle beach. its just an absolute waste of money.

I myself just got a pair of logitech G930 Headphones and i was blown away by everything. i have yet to find a downside, other than i cant use them while im charging them. ( you can i just dont feel like taking to time to figure it out ) But its 10 hours of charge for 1hr of charging time.

They are wireless, and the range is somewhere around 40-100 feet. my house is 100 and i can walk clear across the house and still use the buttons and hear everything without it cutting out. ( your mileage may vary depending on how insulated and thick the walls are )

The 7.1 surround sound is orgasmic You can tell the difference between that and 2.1 because it has a button to disable the 7.1 surround.

Welp, my question wasn't answered yesterday so I might as well try again. I'm a Canadian hoping I can get some advice on what kind of headphones to buy. While I have already looked at the recommendations section of the wiki and everything there is either American or American and out of stock and as a Canadian, I'm hoping for some alternative recommendations. That said, Amazon.ca does sell the TASCAM TH02 Closed-Back headphones that are mentioned on the recommendations page and they are at the top of my buying list at the moment.

Now, as for the required information:

Budget - I would like to keep it under $100 Canadian, I can go higher, but as a college student I really don't want to.

Source - Just planning on using these with my computer, fyi I don't have a sound card.

Requirements for Isolation - As I said, I'm a college student and since I'm living on residence I would like a fair amount of noise isolation, but not an extreme amount (I'm hoping to be on an extended quiet hours floor next year).

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - Not planning on it.

Preferred Type of Headphone - I personally prefer over-ear headphones despite my glasses.

Preferred tonal balance - While I don't know that much about tone, I think I'd prefer an overall balanced pair of headphones as my musical tastes are all over the place.

Past headphones - My last two headphones have been Logitech G930s. Overall they've both been good to me, but since both of them are dying/dead from the batteries failing I figured it was time to try something else. I really don't care if my new headphones have a microphone or not since my current G930 probably still has enough life in it to do that.

Preferred Music - As I've said, I'm all over the place. I like Rock, Alternative Rock, EDM, Dubstep, Orchestral, other kinds of Electronic, a few others I don't know the genre of. As a side note, I am also going to use these headphones for gaming.

I think that's everything, should I just buy the TASCAM TH02s, or does anyone have any recommendations?

If a wireless headset is a MUST then Logitech G930 or Corsair Vengeance 2100. They're both pretty much similar in price and quality, and they're actually fairly cheap right now for $70-$75.

Just know that buying these will come with their fair share of significant problems such as connection between the headset and dongle dropping a lot and/or battery life decreasing significantly over a few months or so. These problems are common with a good chunk of buyers but not 100% so running into them wiil not be surprising.

I don't know about the Vengeance 2100, but I've owned the G930 for quite some time and during the first month of use the connection dropped a lot whilst at my desk. There were no other signals that could be disrupting it. It's become a bit bearable now though after a couple of months and connection only drops like once in a days use.

Battery life is still good. Sound quality is okay at most. The mic does the job but no where near spectacular. I don't use it anyway because I have a mic. I bought a wireless headset for the sake of having less wires going across my desk. It's a "gaming headset" so there's nothing great to expect from it.

u/Tyloor · 1 pointr/gifs

And that's why I have a gaming headset :P

u/McSalterson · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Best Buy and Amazon have the Logitech G930 for $69.99 ($90 off list price) and the Corsair H2100 for $59.99 ($40 off list price) right now. Both are wireless and 7.1.

Wireless (and headsets in general) aren't ideal, but personally, I'm willing to trade some sound quality for the convenience.

u/Klovar · 1 pointr/TagProIRL

I love these. I've had two pair over the past.... 6 years? (damn!)

The audio quality, range, and durability are all excellent.

I've played a couple seasons of TagPro w/ these babies and I've never had any complaints with them.

There is one minor software flaw with them, but that is easily fixed by installing an older driver for Windows.

Anyway, hope this helps.

I got these for the same price, $35 usd last week. Imo, these are worth it for only $35. They're very comfy and headphone sound input is good. The mic quality is eh, but only saying that because I have a blue yeti microphone to replace the microphone output. I'm just using the logitech for sound output plugged into the blue yeti. Cord is long and from reviews the cord gets tangled, but I haven't encountered that yet because they give you twisty ties and a velcro twisty thing. I like that the headset is lightweight, but the only thing that concerns me is how easily the plastic will break if it 'accidentally' drops on the ground.

The reason why I got the logitech is because I had ATH-ANC50iS and those broke after having them for 4 months and was sick of using batteries for "noise cancelling surround sound". I also had Logitech wireless headset g930, but for some reason, every time someone was using the microwave, it d/cs the headset and reconnects after the microwave is done being in use. So that got really annoying to deal with.

I use a logitech g930 and OBS to record/stream. Its possible that the overall acustics in the room are picked up. As its fairly large open area.

Mechanical
I don't actually have scripts. Outside of the run notes or contact front videos. I actually have no idea on how to do any kind of editing. Its one of the things I have in mind should I launch a patreon or something like that. But this is encouraging.

Content
Hope is to make the idea of gming less intimidating to newer people. The idea that it makes you wanna gm again is also encouraging

I've had my HD598s for a couple years now and while they've been a huge upgrade from my previous headsets (things like the logitech gaming headsets) I've been looking at getting a semi-significant upgrade. I've been mostly looking at the HD650s, 700s and the AKG k712s, trying to find a good balance of looks cool (I really like the k712 design) and sounds good (only heard good things about the 650s and mostly positive about the 700s, but I'm not a huge fan of the latter's looks).

Disclaimer: I'm very new to general headphones shopping so forgive my inexperience here.

----

Budget - $400-500USD, fairly flexible

Source - My desktop, through a to-be-determined DAC/amp (currently have an e10k but I've been eyeing The Element for quite some time, if anyone has any input on that that'd be great too)

Requirements for Isolation - None

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - No

Preferred Type of Headphone - Full-sized/over-ear

Preferred tonal balance - Haven't experienced a huge variety of headphones to say for sure or really develop a strong preference, but I do like some good bass. Hopefully looking for something that will pack a bit more of a punch than my 598s.

Past headphones - The aforementioned 598s. As I said the bass isn't super great on them, but I understand that that's just kind of how it is with open-back cans, and I don't particularly hate that about them, just something I'd like to improve. That's pretty much my only complaint though, I do enjoy these headphones, just looking to upgrade to something more mid-upper range.

Preferred Music - My listening habits seem to change every few weeks. Plenty of classical for when I'm working, but I've been on a big lofi indie folk punk binge lately. In general I keep coming back to classic rock and some electronic music though. I also do some movie watching and a lot of gaming on the same computer, if that affects anything (I know plenty of big-name streamers use 650s but not sure if there's a specific reason for that).

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Since I don't have any real hard complaints with my current phones I'm not sure if I can pinpoint specific areas I'm looking to improve. Coming from these things to the 598s was so night-and-day that I haven't considered specifically what points I'd prioritize.

Edit: I'm also not solely trying to chose between the three headphones I mentioned above, but those would probably be my top three choices at the moment, I'm definitely open to other suggestions!

u/billtimbob · 1 pointr/gaming

I'm looking at for something maybe around ~$100. Right now I'm eyeing the G930. Anyone have experiences with it?

u/sircod · 1 pointr/buildapc

I hate wires, so I got the Logitech G930 on sale for about $95. Comfortable, good sound quality, and the battery lasts all day. I love being able to get up and walk to the next room, and just not having the wire get caught on something every 5 min. The surround sound is pretty much a gimmick though.

u/NeoZenith1 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

the G930 is a glorious headset its also on sale right now

u/Sonic_Steel · 1 pointr/buildapc

They are USB so you will not need a sound card. If you do want to look into wireless, Logitech also makes a good set. I have a friend that has used them and likes it. It has the advantage of having an additional 3 buttons on the headset, though is slightly more than the Corsair.

u/WhipTheLlama · 1 pointr/oculus

Sell your DK1. You can get at least $200 for it. Instant spending money.

Now buy a Hotas X flight stick for about $45. Don't worry that it says PS3 because there's a switch to make it PC or PS3 (you can see it in the second picture).

That's all you need for E:D. This leaves you with at least $150 left over from your DK1 sale to find a G27 wheel on Craigslist. I got mine for $100 a couple of years ago.

Don't worry about the buttkicker or subpac. They're massively overpriced and a lot of people find them annoying. If you sell your DK1 for $250 or more you'll have money left over for a Logitech g930 wireless surround sound headset. That's way more important for immersion and wireless is a great way to stop all your cables from tangling now that you've got all the DK2 wires to worry about.

u/shazwald · 1 pointr/GirlGamers

I use Logitech G930s but they might be too big for a super tiny head. I've been using mine for about 2 years and they are still going strong.

My recommendations:

Mouse: 2014 Razer Naga MMO mouse, has 12 buttons that can be programmed to do pretty much anything you want.

Headset: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B003VANOFY
The Logitech g930 is an amazing headset, incredibly comfortable 7.1 surround sound and wireless that works a pretty large distance and has solid battery life with a long enough cord to easily plug in when it starts to die.

You will not be unhappy with the above choices, I put a lot of research into getting these for myself and have multiple friends whom I game with that have the same equipment. They are proven and work.

I've been using these for nearly 6 months they are pretty awesome for gaming. I also have some turtle beaches for my xbox but they just feel cheap the sound quality is nothing compared to my G930 Logitechs the wireless feature is really nice especially if you play WoW(you can stroll around your house whilst still talking on ventrilo/Skype which is handy for those quick sandwich breaks without anyone noticing).

My headphones that I use for my xbox/laptop. If you can afford the G930 Logitechs do get them they are super comfortable even after 8+ hours of gaming and the noise cancellation/surroud sound is amazing. Also about the microphone its really decent quality and there is a handy mute button on the side of the headset that you can easily press if you want to talk to someone without it going through your mic ;)

Edit: Not sure why but they are $139 on US amazon and £139 on the UK amazon( Im from UK and I just noticed the lower cost on US amazon zz)

I don't think any gaming headset can qualify as BIFL. The best I've ever owned however is a Logitech G930. I've had them over 2 years now and they're still like new (getting almost daily use in some capacity). They meet your price requirements, but I'm not sure they're Xbox compatible.

u/NoNoveltyNeeded · 1 pointr/htpc

I am personally using the Logitech G930 Gaming Headset which is 'surround sound' usb wireless headphones and microphone. I got them on sale a few months back for less than I could find regular wireless headphones so I took a chance on them. It all works rather seamlessly; they live in our media cabinet with the dongle, and when I'm up late (or early) I just get them out, plug in the usb dongle and turn them on and everything comes through my headphones rather than my receiver (which the PC is plugged into via HDMI).

u/meowatlaw · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

u/Genghis_Tron187 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Well, you have a trade off then. If cables keep getting tangled, you either need a way to deal with that, or you have to deal with charging a wireless headset.

If you want the wireless route, I used this back in the day. It was a pretty solid headset that you can charge and play with, but the pleather ear cups did flake off a bit after use. If that's something you can deal with, it's worth the sale price it's currently at.

u/awaythrow810 · 1 pointr/buildapc

$45 used for a good wireless headset

$43 for another decent used headset

buildapcsales also has you covered if you want to look yourself

Supposedly you can hook some headsets up to the Xbox one controller, don't think you can do that with the 360 but either way it's going to be a pretty big hassle. I'd just connect directly to the PC.

A true povo solution would be to pair this mic with the budget headphones of your choice. You can get some surprisingly good basic headphones for $20-30

u/Insaniaksin · 0 pointsr/headphones

I have a Wireless Logitech G930 with 7.1 surround sound. The sound quality is amazing, and you can switch it between surround sound and mono sound with an easy switch of a button on the headset. Battery life of continuous use is probably close to 8 hours, but you can still use it while plugged in with its plenty long micro-usb charging cord.

The mic does go up and automutes in the "up" position, and theres also a mic mute button next to the scrolling volume control. You can very quickly turn up and down sound without pressing a button multiple times because of the scrolling feature on it, like a mouse scroll button.

I absolutely love this headset. It also has 3 programmable buttons that you can set to stop, play, pause, etc. I use both iTunes and Windows Media Player, and I can quickly and easily pause the music or podcast just by reaching up next to the volume button. There is no button for an absolute sound mute though, but you might be able to set that as a programmable button. I haven't experimented with that cuz my keyboard does have a "mute all sound" button.

It's $100 but it was perfect for what I wanted it for which was voice communication while gaming. If you want wireless headphones, get these ones.
All in all, these are the best headphones I have ever owned, and I have had them for about a year so far with absolutely no problems so far.

Mic does not pick up sound from the headphones, and has a noise cancelling microphone that won't pick up most external sounds unless they are extremely loud.

Has good battery life, is quite comfortable, great (7.1!) audio quality, and lots of neat little features (mic mutes when flipped up, volume and multimedia controls on the earpiece, other neat things). Normally it's quite expensive, but it's not uncommon for them to come down a bit in price. I think I got mine on sale somewhere for around $120.
