I'm not sure you should do anything to the wall. It would distract from the entertainment on the TV. What I think would look cool is adding bias lighting behind the screen, which you could match the colors of your furniture/rug/whatever.

For adaptive bias lighting, it's a little more complicated. If the television doesn't come with it natively, you have to run it through some sort of hardware to figure out what's going to show on screen and react to it. The only one I know worth trying is Lightpack.

Keep in mind it's attached right across the middle behind the screen unlike some others which are attached around by the edges of the screen. It comes with a remote and plugs into a USB port behind the TV. For $10 bucks you can't go wrong . I mean honestly it's not that expensive. There are deals on bias lighting on Gizmodo all the time for like 10-15 bucks for a USB strip. Unless you go down the Aquos or more expensive route that color changes to match stuff on screen which you don't really gain any benefit from.
With Ikea even selling cheaper sets now it's not hard at all.
Take a look $12 on sale on Amazon right now. Comes with a remote too.
If it works with Logitech Harmony stuff even better it can be auto on/off etc.
