Not as cheap as Starburst, but I have a set made out of foam tape cut into squares. (After I backed on Kickstarter, I was too impatient to wait for my set.) You want 1/2" thick tape, so that it stands as a wall nicely. The only tool I needed to use was scissors. You'll need two different colors of tape, and you should leave the adhesive untouched, or it will get unreasonably sticky fast. Yoga blocks do jack all for isolation. The neoprene is ok, but the compound that actually isolates is sorbothane. I'd get sorbothane and maybe put some saran wrap(or anything really) around it so it doesn't stain. Try it out without it though, unlikely you'll need it. If you notice something then get speaker stands.
If you were placing things on top of your subwoofers then yeah definitely place sorbothane or some of this stuff. Also, I put foam tape where picture frames come in contact with my walls since the rattling becomes really distracting.
Seal up the odd-shaped gaps with some weatherstripping foam.
Not a bad idea. I should have mentioned that I'll be running about 22 ethernet cables through the hole so I need something big enough.

In the meantime, I know they have this stuff handy, can I tell them to use it to "fill in the gaps" where the gasket has deformed as a temporary solution or is that stupid?
