I also did a quick image search of under sink storage, now I have that same feeling I get after watching Hoarders where I need to immediately organize everything I own.
I have one of these, and it works great!
I use something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Madesmart-32-Inch-Expandable-Under-Organizer/dp/B0000CFKJW# which is also shallow enough that I've stacked toilet paper on all these shelves and there's top-to-bottom space in the front for tall shampoo bottles and such.
