Buy better ramen. I don't know how people can eat tons of Maruchan or Top Ramen. Get some quality shit on amazon. Its more expensive but you'll hate yourself a bit less. Here's some things to get you started with:

Here's the two mentioned at the bottom of the image:

Nong Shim Ramen

Mama Tom Yum Ramen

I can't speak to the second one, but I pretty much always have the Nong Shim noodles on hand, and I don't even like regular shitty ramen. That stuff is some of the most delicious soup I've ever had, and it easily passes as delicious homemade soup. It's got a nice bite to it and it's extremely filling. The "brick" of noodles is quite a bit larger than the standard ramen package, and there are several different packets of ingredients rather than the usual mystery powder.

Words cannot describe how delicious that Nong Shim stuff is. It has an astronomically high taste-to-difficulty ratio. In fact, I don't think I can think of anything tastier than I could prepare in less time or for less money.

Seriously, I love that stuff.

Alright! I'm going to list a bunch of different types, so bear with me here--

If you're looking for a more classic, almost like Top Ramen kind of tastes, I recommend these: Sapporo Ichiban

They're basically just tastier Top Ramen, in my opinon. If you want to fancy it up a bit and go a little deeper into "classic" ramen tastes, then go with this: Nissin Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu

Speaking of Tonkotsu, do you like a richer Tonkotsu flavor? Then this is what you'll want to try! Myojo Charumera Ramen Tokotsu Shoyu

A bit too high calorie? Want something lighter, non-fried, but still has some delicious Tonkotosu flavor and a firmer chew? Then try Nissin Raoh!

It also comes in the Soy Sauce and Miso flavors, or even Shio if you're looking for that!

Japanese not your thing? Want to try some Korean Ramyun? Neoguri Spicy Seafood might be your thing!

But like some szechuan spice with some authentic ma la flavor that numbs your mouth? Why not try our JML Instant Noodle Artificial Spicy Hot Beef Flavor?
P.S. The "artifical" is a bad translation of the ma la flavor

What about some southeast asian flavors? Nothing like Mama Tom Yum flavor to brighten up your day! These are smaller packet, just something to keep in mind. They also make Shrimp creamy Tom Yum and Artifical Pa-Lo Duck Flavor if you're into that!

Speaking of which, let's get some Laksa and Penang in here! MyKuali Penang White Curry is a very delicious, but kind of shrimp funky kind of flavor, but it's definitely worth a try! The entire MyKuali line is very good!

What about something a bit more on the more luxurious side, but also has that same fermented shrimp funk? Why not Prima Taste Laksa La Mian with coconut broth?

And if we want to go into the more expensive, more authentic ramen taste, there's Ichiran instant ramen, which is expensive, but pretty close to an actual authentic bowl of Ichiran Tonkotsu Ramen!

I hope this helped, and let me know if there's anything else you'd like to try, and I can give recommendations! I also recommend going to a local asian supermarket and browsing their instant ramen section-- Amazon only carries the more popular ones, and there are truly some delicious hidden gems that you can only get in asian grocery stores!

If you really want that Tom Yum flavor grab these. Other than "wet" yours doesn't resemble Tom Yum at all.

I do cilantro and sliced green (spring) onion. I also have bean spouts to add at the end. Plus a soft boiled egg is always amazing.

Also tom yum ramen is also easily the best imo and cheap as well.

Ramen packet.
MCD pancake butter or two.
Carrot.
Fresh greenbeans/sugar snap peas (lots of grocery stores have them in loose bulk. Enough for X meals)
Sriracha packet (panda Express has them. Just ask do t have to buy anything)

Can do this as a soup or drained noodles. Add water , boil with sliced carrots and beans/peas. Few mins depending on your taste for softness. Add noodles cook the 3 min for them.
Optional: drain water (keep for soup)
Add ramen flavor packet and butter. Mix up and eat. (Sriracha as needed)

Garlic powder (very little) is also good but not required. Can make your own seasoning as well and ditch the ramen seasoning. I'd say play around at home either way. Lots of veggie options out there that are light and will keep a day or two.

Also, there are lots of ramens out there besides the basic ones at normal grocery stores. My city has a pretty big vietnamese community and their grocery stores have some pretty fancy ones. I'll find and link some as they are on amazon as well. These have 3, 4, 5 packets of seasonings/oils/spices and are pretty dang good (I tend to add veggies to most)

Dont like/want noodles? Rice works too. I'm sure there are other options as well. Cant think of any at the moment.

Oh yeah. Dried mushrooms. The asian market or Amazon should have those too. Great to add. Add towards end. Don't need too much hydration.

Down thru the centuries, college students have spent their measly pennies on Top Ramen. And thus it is written.

[But I more highly recommend the MaMa ramen, shrimp flavor. Toss in a some chopped up leftover chicken breast and you're stylin'! $22 for 30 bags here: https://www.amazon.com/Mama-Tom-Yum-Flavour-Noodles/dp/B000QFOXTS/ref=pd_sim_325_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=40AT8P1W71HPEYP5NEC8 ]

Best tip I can give you is to not buy Ramen brand. Buy [these]http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000QFOXTS). They taste ten times better and come with the flavor packet plus a chili powder packet and grease packet. You can get them online or at an asian market near you. You will not be disappointed!

u/hayberry · 2 pointsr/1200isplenty

If you can't find any, feel free to pm me an address and I can send you a packet next time I go to the post office. (: I have them stockpiled hahaha. Oh an also, Mama noodles are my favorite ramen noodles, so much better than Maruchan or Top Ramen or any of that nonsense. It's also only 260 calories! 63% of your sodium but what are you going to do.

Try these.

A whole new reality.

u/StayingVeryVeryCalm · 1 pointr/Advice

I’m glad you went. Hope you feel better soon.

Also, FYI, if I only had a week to live, I would buy a case of this: https://www.amazon.com/Mama-Tom-Yum-Flavour-Noodles/dp/B000QFOXTS

...or at least, that’s what I promise myself every time I see them in Walmart and don’t buy them, because I can’t do that to my stomach lining again. But they’re soooo good.

(Seriously, though, wait until you’re feeling better and done the antibiotics before experimenting with delicious spicy ramen.)

u/NovaKevin · 1 pointr/HelpMeFind

This specific brand doesn't seem to be available anywhere online. But if you liked that flavor you might like Mama's Tom Yum or Mama's Spicy Tom Yum.

u/mechitgood · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Try these they sell them at Walmart and they're so friggen delicious.

u/bears2013 · 1 pointr/ramen

Just be aware that the price markup online is ridiculous. E.g., Amazon sells Maruchan ramen 24-packs (those 5 for $1 noodles) for close to $20. Don't expect amazing quality for the price, because what you paid $16 for might have been like $6 at the local asian supermarket (not that it would be bad by any means, but not as gourmet as the price would indicate).

I honestly can't remember anything about the taste, but I had a couple college friends rave over Mama noodles. If you love spicy, Nongshim noodles have the best seasonings.

I would check out your local chain supermarkets and see if they have an 'asian' section; apparently Walmart sells those Mama noodles. And if you're ever in the area of an asian market, stock up like crazy lol.
