This one

Is awesome. Super cheap and works great. I got it on sale for 17 and it works awesome. It's on sale for 22 now.

u/genki831 · 7 pointsr/GearVR

Whoever recommended this piece of crap owes me $22. This is a piece of hardware, but definitely one to avoid if you are looking for a controller. I tried it with VR Karts and Jump, the buttons do not all work for either game. I can still play Jump, but the rotate and back buttons don't work. I have exit to Oculus home to quit a level and I have to rotate my body to rotate in game.

14.95 with free prime shipping. Pairs with little to no effort, comes with a mini USB charging cable (no extra batteries required) and worked perfectly out of the box with the above game you mentioned. I use it for mine craft daily on an S7.

it was just under 10 bucks last week, but for 15 it's still an incredible deal

I can confirm that that specific moga controller will not work with mincraft, or any vr games. It has a really stupid way to connect, and it just feels uncomfortable. Minecraft uses all the buttons on a normal sized controller, so you're really going to need to get one. I bought a cheap 20 dollar one that has a ok build quality but has enough buttons to actually play the game. The analog sticks are pretty good but the triggers are simply one button press and the d-pad is pretty awful. But it works great regardless.

Edit: here's the one I bought.

u/tragicmanner · 3 pointsr/GearVR

I hesitated to get this one because of how many conflicting Galaxy S7 reviews which is the phone I use. I would love to know if people have successfully used this with the S7, and what specific S7 model they have.

I haven't used a mouse on a Fire TV, so this could be different, but when I've used them on Android tablets in the past moving the mouse would give you a cursor, and clicking would be the same as a tap.

What I use for touch apps on Fore TV is this Bluetooth controller which also has a mouse mode that lets you move the curser with the joystick and click with the A button.

I have a bunch of these and they work fine with a bit of light hackery.

Toss this in /etc/udev/rules.d/99-bt.rules

SUBSYSTEM=="input",ENV{ID_INPUT_JOYSTICK}="1"

You need to make a udev rule to give it the right CLASS of device and then need to edit the /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg to use sdl2

input_joypad_driver = "sdl2"

(and similar for mupen)

That's more or less it (PM me later if you happen to buy one and need help). I have 5 of them (3 in use) and they all work fine with both my Zero W and Pi3s

1. I use the built in touchpad for everything except games that require a bluetooth controller. The touch pad is very responsive and functions perfectly. I bought this and it works well with games that require it.

2. My favorite games are Smash Hit, Gunjack, Anshar Wars 2, Esper 2, Oculus Arcade (Sonic the Hedgehog), and Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. All these games have exceptionally high replay value. I have been playing Smash Hit everyday before work. The game is free and it helps wake me up.

The only game I didn't like was Mortal Blitz VR. I wish I hadn't bought it.

3. I use the Oculus video app for the "Void Theater" setting so that I can watch content I put on my phone while laying down. I use Samsungs MilkVR for the 360 3D porn I put on my phone. I also use the Vrideo app for random awesome 360 3d videos. I like this app because I can download the videos.

My concern is if you're in bed, your arms will get tired/sore if you're trying to hold up a tablet or controller. At least if you're lying flat. If you can sit up and hold it in your lap, you're fine.

I have another suggestion. The Moga controller you linked is very cheap, but also very bad. Won't work with most apps and doesn't even have a d-pad. I understand you're on a very limited budget.

What about a Sony Xperia Play? It's even older and less powerful than the Moto E, so you can write off PSP emulation entirely. But none of the devices you're looking at would do PSP well anyway. The Xperia Play has a slide out gamepad, it can still play PS1 and GBA games, and it sells for only around $50 used.

If you want to get a tablet, while the Ipega 9023 or similar telescoping controllers may seem like the only way to go, you can really use any bluetooth controller as long as you have a way of propping it up. Hell, you don't even need bluetooth - if the tablet supports USB OTG (and most should), you can hook up a wired controller, and those could be even cheaper. Of course then you have to buy a USB OTG cable, around $5.

You could afford a used Amazon Fire tablet for around $28, leaving you $20 for a controller. That's enough for this full-sized Matricom controller. Then you'd just have to figure out a way to prop up your tablet. If you are able to put an inclined flat surface on your lap (or your knees, if you are able to raise them), you can rest the tablet there.

I can't speak for the Beboncool, but the MOGA Hero Power is a bit meh with the twin sticks and the triggers (you get what you pay for). MOGAs are great though in that they're generally compatible with everything.

Additional side commentary fluff:
Something to consider - you can get a nicer controller if you take out a few options - if you don't need a clip, you're not going to be on the move and you have a phone stand, you could just get a normal bluetooth controller.
This controller I found was pretty good (although a bit annoying since my phone thought it was a keyboard):

If you do decide on that though, keep in mind the thumbsticks are a lot better than the options you listed, but the dpad is garbage.

I would also say look into an OTG controller, but I researched your phone and it doesn't support it. Right now I use a wired iBuffalo USB controller and I love it.

I use the Matricom g-pad BX https://www.amazon.com/Matricom-Wireless-Rechargeable-Bluetooth-Compatible/dp/B015YF3YZ8

The buttons feel great, it has a matte coating, it's Bluetooth. You can use it on your PC as well. It's well worth the money!

u/fendercaster26 · 2 pointsr/OculusGo

From what I have seen it only works with the screen on. With the screen off it just shows a black screen :(.

I just hooked this old guy that was lying around https://www.amazon.com/Matricom-Wireless-Rechargeable-Bluetooth-Compatible/dp/B015YF3YZ8. I would imagine any bluetooth controller would do the trick though.

This one has worked well for me. I've used it with my MiBox (actual Android TV games and emulators) and paired it with my Android phone with success. I don't know about the other systems. Plus, it's only $18.

u/GabeMamas · 1 pointr/fireTV

People are claiming this one works with our gen. I ordered 2 I'm hoping they will.

u/melog69 · 1 pointr/AndroidTV

I use the Matricom G Pad BX with retroarch and have not had any issues with it, plus the battery is rechargeable

u/osirisad · 1 pointr/fireTV

I would bet that it does. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive Bluetooth controller that works on the stick, I know for a fact this controller works.

u/imaxtothewelll · 1 pointr/GearVR

EDIT: I forgot to say this products name Maticom G-Pad BX
best price and compatible with no added software... only slight downside is that they are on back order but imo well worth the wait at the great price of $17.90

Hola,

Precio: 400 c/u?

u/hardward123 · 1 pointr/GearVR

:/ I think buying this and 1 game is your best bet. Hope I could help.

u/arkaydez · 1 pointr/GearVR

This worked perfectly for me and its cheep :)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015YF3YZ8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just make sure to set it to android mode

u/Max_Roc · 1 pointr/ShieldAndroidTV

I ordered one of these and am happy with it. Definitely won't be as durable as a ps4 or x1 controller if dropped as many times as we've manhandled those conrtollers, but it's good for the price.

Heres a really cheap option that I currently use for rocket league, it works well enough with a program called x360ce(so it emulates an xbox 360 controller)

u/sobeRx · 1 pointr/GearVR

Can you link the $20 one? The first one I pulled up was $49.99 - https://www.amazon.com/Matricom-Wireless-Rechargeable-Bluetooth-Compatible/dp/B015YF3YZ8

Hey there buddy. Sorry 'bout that, I miss remembered the name. Here is it for ya. MATRICOM

https://www.amazon.com/Matricom-Wireless-Rechargeable-Bluetooth-Compatible/dp/B015YF3YZ8

u/wcminor · 1 pointr/AndroidQuestions

I should have mentioned that. It's a Matricom G-Pad. It's supposed to be able to play nicely with Android. It does pair with my phone, and some of the buttons do things, but not the right things. The others do nothing.

u/a1b3rt · 1 pointr/GearVR

What is a decent Bluetooth controller that plays nicely with Galaxy S7 + Gear VR 2015 ?

My S7 just got the Nougat update

Preferably I would spend about $15 on the controller since I only spent $10 getting the Gear VR after Samsung Pay promotion :)

I added this to my watchlist and I am still researching -- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015YF3YZ8/

Any advice welcome

u/shredtilldeth · 1 pointr/GoogleCardboard

So it's not QUITE less than $15 but I just bought this controller and it's been working great thus far! Not an issue whatsoever at this point.

u/BSCA · 1 pointr/skyrim

Well, I should have done my research a little better. I'm not very happy with my game pad. I did pay $15 but since then the price increased to $18. https://www.amazon.com/Matricom-Wireless-Rechargeable-Bluetooth-Compatible/dp/B015YF3YZ8

This game pad is probably better suited for Android. I had to use special software to use it in morrowind.. And even now, button presses do two different things. So I don't recommend it.

I have a 360 controller that works well but requires a receiver plugged in. The Xbox one controller works perfectly with Bluetooth and w10.. It costs a bit more. I also would love a $50 steam controller because it has mouse emulation and is specially suited and built for PC games. Xpadder and an Xbox controller can probably do mouse emulation also. If you need help with configuration let me know. I use some weird program for my cheap gamepad. And it's not enough, I need to fix it more.

I ordered my friend a $20 bluetooth keyboard with trackpad. He's going to use a w10 tablet as a htpc and I think this is perfect for it. Just waiting on micro HDMI cable.

A side use.. I want to practice and learn coding. I had a keyboard case that fits 7/8 inch tablets and plugs right in to micro USB. When I find it, I will have this tablet set up like a laptop to learn coding.

I got the canakit, a Bluetooth controller, and 32gb micro sd. Around $70 give or take.
