The MEE Audio M6 pro headphones are really great for the price (50 €). They are basically musican's in-ear monitor headphones. The kicker is the memory foam tips which work like earplugs

So, I've been playing for ~20 years or so. I've gone though a few different plateaus and/or rough patches where I couldn't find the fun in drumming. However, here is a list of things that I think will help you:

1. Play with other musicians. Playing drums by yourself can get stale very quickly, especially if you're not a tinkerer who enjoys playing rudiments at different tempos. Music is about having fun and making music with and for other people, and drums in particular are a bit difficult to make music by yourself. Get out of the practice space and meet people who will challenge you!
   
2. Buy a decent pair of sound isolating earbuds. You'll want something that will allow you to hear the sounds through your earpiece without having the volume of your drums overpower them. They have a pair of Comply memory foam tips that really allow you to hear your audio well.
   
3. If you're having issues finding the beat, the first thing I think you should do is play to a metronome without music. That will eliminate the distraction of all of the other parts in the song and allow you to focus solely on the pulse of the song. Once you get comfortable to a point that you can stay on the click without thinking about it, try re-introducing the music back into your headphones. You'll probably find that you're able to sit in the beat much better.
   
4. Pick up a different instrument. I'm not saying to abandon drums, but rather pick up some supplemental instruments. I started out on drums, but over the years have learned guitar, bass, and a little keys. When I'm plateauing on drums, I'll just switch over to a different instrument and have fun there. The cool part is that all of the instruments inform each other, so you'll learn about how to play drums to guitar just by playing guitar and thinking of how a drum part fits in with what you're playing.
   
   If you try any of those things and you're still not having fun, you should probably ask yourself what it is about it that you're not finding fun. There's a chance that you just don't like playing drums, which is totally fine! My girlfriend was a violinist as a kid, and hates playing now because she was forced to take a lot of lessons and study constantly and has a lot of anxiety tied to it. Don't stress yourself out if it's something that you don't derive any pleasure from.

Your current phone and an iem of your choosing would seem the most straight-forward setup. That's what I do when I camp.

If your phone doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack, then purchasing a Bluetooth headband is your next best option - still simple and convenient to use, and provides some insurance against accidentally dropping an iem while walking.

Shop around and/or read reviews for an iem with a replaceable cord and a standardized connection (mmcx or 0.78 pin). Make an iem selection. If you need to pursue adding a Bluetooth neckband, simply select one that matches the type of cable connection on the iem you've chosen.

Almost all basses will have their bridge as far back to make the already cumbersome instrument a little more managable. That said the string spacing is generally wide enough that you can rest your hand on the E string and just move your hand a little to play the E string.

If you ever plan On playing in a super loud situation I recommend Iems.

Turn It up until It sounds right. And make sure its a bass overdrive or atleast has a blend knob because most Guitar ODs have very strong bass filtering.

For isolation at this price point, you might want IEM's, which I don't know well. Final Audio E2000 or E3000 might be good choices. Or possibly the MEE Audio M6 Pro.

I have a GMAX MX86 helmet (motocross) and wear these.

They work super well and since they're flush with the ear the helmet doesn't usually pull them out. I'll ride at 85mph and it's not loud.

I have seen those around a little, they look good from what I can tell. First generation or second generation though? From the description, the 2nd gen is said to just have "better sound and build quality", and while there's not many reviews on the 2nd gen, they seem to have come out just recently.

I listen to the same genres as you, I'm currently on the MEE Audio M6 pro 2nd gens and I love them. Well balanced when you're in any public space, and when they have a good seal in your ear, theres almost zero sound leakage.

however, taking a pricey[not actually expensive headphones, look up sennheiser etc] or flashy item like that to place where other people would consider that pricey would make you more likely to be a victim of theft. It may be better for you to leave them home.

get some earbuds or something more inconspicuous. That doesn't mean you need to sacrifice sound quality. For example get some soundmagic E10 one very very good pair of earbuds for the price, definitely better than any beats products. or if you have money gert some shure or mee in ear monitors.

Only problem though is my helmet (RF-1200) rips them right out when I put my helmet on. Even without having the headphones on, it folds my ear over and I have to fix my ears manually.

I say all that because it seems like I won't be able to use headphones at all.

Any recommendations on how I can get some tunes in my ears while I'm out riding? Currently looking into some helmet speakers like these:

Hast du schon mal In-Ears mit Schaumstoffspitzen statt der üblichen Silikonkappen versucht? die kappen gibt es entweder separat zu kaufen, oder gleich Kopfhörer, die diese dabei haben. Ich hab z.B. das Vorgängermodell von denen hier.

Ansonsten hab ich mir noch als billige Alternative die hier geholt, für Situationen, wo mir die Gefahr zu groß ist, dass die anderen kaputt gehen. Das mit dem Bügel muss man mögen, ich find's praktisch, weil die Dinger dann nicht so leicht raus fallen.

My go-to earbuds are exactly $50. I haven't tried the version 2 yet, but the V1 is discontinued and AFAIK it's just an aesthetic difference. They sound as good as my $150 desktop headphones and have a replaceable cable so one ear going out or the cable breaking isn't the end of the earbuds.

Edit: found the original somehow for $2.00 less.

I use the first gen version of these with comply tips that I switch out every few months. They have a bit more high end than I'd like, but they're pretty fantastic for the price. If problems ever come up, you just order a new cable.

MEE Audio M6 Pros go for like $50 these days, and are absolutely solid.

That said, for quite a bit more (depending on your budget, though they're still cheap for the quality they offer), the M7 Pros are fucking fantastic at $150. They're my daily drivers, and I've never been more happy with earbuds/IEMs AND the company that makes them. Full disclosure, I also use MEE Audio's Bluetooth adapter cable (another $60, but it's well-spent IMO), because the DAC in Samsung phones is fucking garbage. The DAC built into the Bluetooth cable is worlds better.

Edit: Also, I don't baby these things. I don't abuse them, but I'm not keeping special care of them. They're dirty, they get sweat on regularly, tangled in things, and they just keep going. Also, I use Comply foam tips.
