I used these. I thought they felt better than a typical capacitive stylus. There are definitely cheaper options out there though.

One of these will work; don't get the fiftythree.

Can also make something in photoshop and redraw it using the controller.

I got these when i bought my touchscreen laptop, and they work fantastic for any touchscreen.

Every laptop with a touchscreen will come with a capacitive touchscreen, but there are two types of capacitive touchscreens:

  • passive digitizer
  • active digitizer

You can take notes on either on those. How good it will work and how pleasurable the experience will be, depends on the type.

On a laptop with a passive digitzer you can use for example such an stylus. This is a "passive" stylus. But there is one problem with taking notes on a laptop with a passive digitizer. You can't rest your hand in the laptop screen while taking notes. The passive digitizer can't differentiate between the passive stylus and your hand. It will treat both them as input.

With an active digitizer (Wacom, NTrig or Synaptics) this isn't a problem. It knows the difference between an active stylus and your hand. As soon as you start scribbling around with an active pen on an active digitizer, it will only register the input from the active pen (regardless if you rest your hand on the touchscreen or not).

As a side not, if you go with laptop with an active digitizer, you will need a compatible pen for it, otherwise the palm rejection won't work. If the laptop has an active digitizer from Wacom, you will need a Wacom pen. If the active digitizer is from NTrig, you will need an NTrig pen.

The Lenovo Yoga 710 and Asus you linked are laptops with a passive digitizer touchscreen.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 460 and the ThinkPad Yoga 12 have an active Wacom digitizer. You can see it even in their descriptions:

    > Multitouch unterstützt 10-Finger Gesten inkl. Wacom Digitizer Stift (keine Batterien nötig)

    > aufladbarer ActivePen Pro, 80% Aufladung nach 15 sec, 100% nach 5 min
