It's a modern cast imitation of a Spanish Colonial gold doubloon, sold as tourist souvenirs and pirate play money for kids. We see this particular design here quite often, with the roughly pentagonal shape.

Sheriff of Nottingham's coins are pretty generic. Thematically, I think the Early English Kings set from Artana would be pretty good. You could also go with the Seafall coins, which are generic in a pretty awesome way, and I think would go pretty well.
Otherwise, if you want cheap and pretty nice, these pirate dubloons are a great option. I know Nottingham's not a pirate-themed game, but those coins are generic enough to work pretty well.

This is the package I went with, rather then the listing that had just 30. It contained plenty of gold and silver, way more then needed for Archipelago.
There are also not different shades of each color, just Gold, Silver and a darker silver.
