I put that in before going to bed. This kind doesn't actually make me feel like I have a billion fire ants on my pants, so that is a big help.
If by the next night I still feel itchy/raw or just wanna make sure I got it all then I follow up with the Monistat 3 day.

This one has a different kind of chemicals in it, and I've found it is much more burning fire ants, but it usually subsides for me in half an hour and I use that external cream to help a lot. I then may continue using the remaining two over the next two nights if I feel I need it or I'm good to go.
And it worked great for me the first time.
