plus

nicer pads XL Brainwavz pads (velour but sound leak/loses bass) (pleather is best for better bass)

I've been waiting for these headphones to come back in stock for around 2.5 months and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Amazon (Shipped and sold by Amazon) is still backordered 1-2 months.

EDIT: Monoprice just added their own listing on Amazon for $29.99 + Free Shipping

If anyone is interested in these, it's recommended to upgrade to the Brainwavz XL pads.

As it just so happens those pads, are on sale as a lightning deal on Amazon atm

I had posted in the headphones one twice (deleted the first one and reworded the second) and I didn't get a response on either. Oh well, I pretty much know what I'm getting and everything now anyway so I'm thankful to everyone on this subreddit. I already put in the order on Newegg for the SHP9500S, and on payday I'll be ordering the Monoprice Retros with new ear pads.

The Monoprice Retros are what youre looking for. When you slap on some monster pads you get some endless comfort with great bass. People call these bass cannons but im not sure id go tha far.

Ive had some 12 hour sessions with these and the comfort just never goes away. I did splurge for the sheepskin pads though.

these will be better than the other 3 headphones you posted (IMO don't bother with noise cancelling headphones at least at this price range.) Don't expect to be wowed by their build quality, their value is more in the sound.

Monoprice Retros are another cheap alternative, really big bass on these, but the stock pads are really bad/uncomfortable so if you've only got $55 to spend I'd still recommend the Superlux over these.

It's a common budget recommendation for a good reason: Monoprice Modern Retro £27.86 with Brainwavz XL pads £22.50. Prices and links from and to Amazon.co.uk, but I should note that it tries to be clever with the price if ordered from and/or shipped to the colonies, so I am using the price seen in the search result.

Listen to "Bladerunner 2049" and "Interstellar" soundtracks to find out why.

If you must stay within that budget, I would suggest something like the Audio Technica ATH-M30X for a closed back set or the Philips SHP9500 if you want an open back set. Out of those two I would suggest the Philips, but since it is an open set other people around you would be able to hear what you are listening to. If that is not a problem, get the Philips. If you do not want other people around you listening, get the Audio Technica's. If you really want to save money, look into the Monoprice Retro's.

It's a shame really. I'd save up a little bit say around 150$ then you get alot more options. The suggestions I give you depend alot on where you live and whether you want to go used or not.

Shure 840's. They dip in and out of around of 100$ (EU) but are one of the few items that are actually cheaper in EU despite being an american company ?
If you don't want to buy secondhand it's little brother the 440's are probably worthwhile as well.

Takstar Pro82 Though no perfect isolation, great comfort and a bass slider.

HiFiMAN Edition S Somewhat over your budget and isolation is not perfect but it does double duty as both open and closed back. Great for travelling.

Status Audio CB-1, you mentioned yourself.

Or if you really want it cheap and don't care about getting seen with them. Superlux HD662 or Superlux hd669 The latter always go in and out of stock at Amazon, if you live in EU Thomann always has them.

Monoprice Retro's if Amazon doesn't have them in stock check with monoprice.com, currently they're both out of stock.
Like the Superlux' cans, something for home use only.

Senheiser 598 cs don't know how long this offer will last.

1MORE H1707 chi-fi but I own this pair and they're great for on the go although they leak just a little bit if you turn up the volume.

I've got through 3 pairs of these, but only because I lost one and the other was destroyed by my cousin :|. They're super great though, paints a soundscape for sure.

You can try getting a directional shotgun mic, but when using speakers you're always going to broadcast your game sounds to everyone else. It's basically unavoidable.

Why would using headphones be a compromise? You can get some stupid good headsets for not a lot of money these days, same goes for dac/amps. I'm using the Monoprice Modern Retro headphones (replaced the pads with Brainwavz XL) through a Fosi Audio Q4 dac/amp and it's a killer combo. The Modern Retros hit way way way above their weight class in terms of price, if they sold for 4x as much they'd still be a good deal. If you want open back look at something like the Audio-Technica ATH-AD500X (or the 700X or the 1000X depending on budget), but open backs may leak a lot of sound too depending on your listening volume.

There's a reason why headphones/headsets are commonly used when gaming and voice is involved. There's really no way around blasting people with your speakers every time you talk (and heaven forbid if you use open mic).

Another option would be Monoprice Modern Retro also sold here which are supposed to have a fun sound signature with good bass. Also wouldn't be surprised if these sound better for playing games than your Corsair headset.

Don't know if the cable is 10ft but it's a long cables and you can always use a headphone extension cable.
