For after birth pain the biggest help for me were the ice packs, and sitz baths. I used [this] ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000E3FHYM/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?qid=1425492464&sr=8-11&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=sitz+bath+herbs) and soaked 2-3 times a day. We called it my butt tea. :)
The sprays & creams helped, but honestly the ice & baths helped more. Also I used depends for the first week or so which helped cushion the sore parts.
