I have the Diztronic case and it's my favorite phone case at any price, for $10 I love it. I've had OtterBox and Mophie cases, but they didn't feel right and added too much bulk so I left them in a drawer most of the time.
I hate to put a case on my new Moto X but having the Wireless Charging would be nice.

I hope that it doesn't disturb the microphone on the back in any way. Would you happen to know what that little mic on the bottom is for? is it just noise cancellation for phone calls or used when recording a video or something?
I dropped mine from pocket height onto the front corner and the screen smashed, whenever I go out now I use this one

For the X 2014, I recommend at least a bumper. The screen sticks out a bit from the body of the phone and if you drop it on one of the corners, the screen will shatter, even with a screen protector.
I use the Diztronic TPU case. It's slim and covers the corners. It fixes the two biggest problems with the phone for me. An unprotected moto X has vulnerable corners, like I've said before, and it is too slick without a case, making it much easier to drop.
