Moto G Play (4th gen.) - Black - 16 GB - Unlocked - 149$ 129$ at Amazon without ads or any of that nonsense, this is the one I bought for my dad and sister last year, it's still a great deal I think :)

Edit: It is now 129$!

I think a Moto G4 Play is good because it has much better root support (motorola doesn't care about locking bootloaders to my memory) and quality control is pretty good.

Spec and build and feature wise, it doesn't compare to the Alcatel, but it runs completely stock Marshmallow with an update to Nougat coming, and longevity guaranteed from the plastic build and quality.

Moto G4 Play is my 100% favorite choice. You're limited with Verizon, since most unlocked phones are GSM only.

EDIT: I just noticed someone else posted about the same phone.
It's a fantastic phone, with nexus like software, for only $130.

If you have Amazon Prime, and willing to accept pre-installed amazon apps, audible, and ads on the lock screen (Only, wallpaper advertisements on lock screen only, all vanished when unlocked) You can pick one up for $99.

As for the Moto G devices:

Currently you can get the Moto G4 Play for $129 from Amazon. Amazon is nice since you can return it if you have issues.

The Moto G4 I recommend because it's unlocked. If you ever leave Sprint, you can use it on Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile as well. It's also a world phone, so you can use Sprint's free GSM global roaming. As mentioned above, the G4 is a newer phone that supports all 3 Sprint LTE bands (850, 1900, 2500). Only negative is it is very much a budget device, so the camera is okay (probably as good as your old Galaxy S3) and it has a 720p screen (again the GS3 has a 720p as well).

If you're a power user there's the Moto G4 Plus which has a better camera, 1080p screen, and fingerprint reader:

However, I'd wait on the Plus. Like I said, the Moto G5 comes out next week and the G4 devices may drop in price.

In that case, I recommend the Moto G4 Play. SD, fully compatible with Ting, and removable battery.

Thanks for your help! Just want to make sure this is the correct phone, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J88GV0C?_encoding=UTF8&ref_=de_a_smtd&showDetailTechData=1#technical-data

I will also post on tracfone reddit to make sure this is compatible

This is more than 100 bucks, but a phone that i recommend is a Moto G4 Play, it's great and its cheap (for my economy). I have it with LineageOS 14.1 and it's very snappy!.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. What about amazon? Might additionally charge tax though.

u/elvinelmo · 1 pointr/suggestasmartphone

The ASUS ZenFone 3 or the Moto G Play are the best phones at that price

u/theredbaron1834 · 1 pointr/LineageOS

Ah, so maybe not a S5 then. Ok, I will look into a Moto then, the 4th moto go, this thing?

Havn't used a moto phone since the Droid X2. Does it have a download mode, etc, incase I F something up? I loved that about the S3.

Here and here.

Moto g4 is a great phone on a budget. Amazon even offers a version with ads for even cheaper.

100 bucks with ads, 130 without.

So this one and this one are okay to get if I want to root them and everything?

Looking at a new phone and these look promising but if I can't unlock the bootloader I don't wanna bother.
