PCPP puts that in the name

Without scrolling down to the specs, tell me, how many SPs does this card have? Actually, go ahead and scroll down, its not mentioned anywhere in the specs either.

EDIT: i also find it rather amusing that you are mad for buying a $80 WIFI card and not having it work on linux (which most certainly wasnt listed on the box as supported), but expect RX560 buyers to magically know about two different versions of the card, which often arent marked as such.

Hey man, I'll never turn away a free opinion or suggestion!

-Ram is fully pushed in
-GPU fan stays on
--I can unplug the output from a laptop's HDMI that is functioning and plug into the desktop build, and get nothing. Suspect the desktop build just has nothing to report... Motherboard ?

I'm pretty familiar with fixing/messing with computers, but admittedly this is my first build. The build is as follows:

-Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (new)

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K6S1B3Q/

-Motherboard: ASUS Z10PE-D16 WS (new)

https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813132416

-CPUs: 2x E5-2697 v3 (Ebay – used from Canada)

-PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000 PQ (new)

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BVQKWYH/

-Coolers: 2x Noctua NH-D9L (new)

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QCEWTAW/

-GPU: MSI Radeon RX650 (used but tested working on my other server)

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B072J422CZ/

-RAM: 4 x Hynix HMA42GR7MFR4N-TF 16GB DDR4-2133 2Rx4 ECC REG Server Memory (new)

At this point, the motherboard will get juice, the power and reset button will light up, I get two LEDs on the mobo lighting up (one is the onboard administrator/controller flashing LED), and the GPU fan will spin up mildly, but will not get anything as far as BIOS posting out of HDMI or DisplayPort on the GPU to a good screen. I get a power dip when I hit the case’s power button (I live in an older 1960’s home), but nothing comes of it.

I’ve went through the cabling and I think I’ve got everything right. I’ve tried single CPU, 1-4 sticks of RAM, etc, and I’m drawing a blank. I bought 4x 16gb of RAM that met the specs per the manual, but weren't on the manufacturer's short "compatible list". So I bought two more sticks of compatible RAM per ASUS, and they still don't allow boot.

My recommendation to you

I don't have much to say, this is probably the most card you can get for a small budget. This card will have similar power requirements and be able to demolish overwatch

u/mrchaotica · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

> Will this system meet my Linux compatibility requirement?

No, you want an AMD video card for Linux. NVidia refuses to cooperate with the Free Software community and thus has shit drivers. The equivalent AMD card in the price range of the build listed appears to be the Radeon RX 560 4GB.

  • Here's the cheapest one, at $129.99.

  • Here's one that color-coordinates with the motherboard in that list, if you care about that sort of thing/want to waste $20.

(Unfortunately, because of the damn crypto miners, going up one step to the 570 would currently cost a crazy $100 margin.)

Get an AMD Radeon RX 560- 580. They should be good enough for most graphics requirements for your system.

El Cheapo option more inline with your CDN budget:

Cheapest 580 I can find with a really quick search:

That monitor will be a torture to use... I am not sure I've seen a 21" desktop monitor with just 1080 vertical pixels since 2000 or so. It's not even an upgrade from his Macbook. Also, the monitor you picked has FreeSync support (which noticeably improves the smoothness of gameplay) but it only works with AMD video cards, RX 560 is the AMD equivalent of 1050:

u/cf18 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

The only issue I can see is the card is long and thick enough to possibly block off 2 of the 4 SATA ports. A shorter RX460 may fit better, e.g.

Given that you're on 4k, i'd highly recommend you stick with 4GB if at all possible. I see the card here for a lot less... Non-prime, but still.

Looking to put together a very basic, budget desktop. First question, is this RX 560 being sold on Amazon the version with 896 Steam Processors, or 1024 Stream Processors? I can't find any information on the store page. Also, would I be able to easily put it into this desktop? Thank you!

u/theobsoletist · 1 pointr/lowendgaming

It varies by model; with the exception of the RX 560 the default config is no 6-pin connector, though a manufacturer can add one if they choose. With the RX 560 there are a few models that don't have a 6-pin but most of them do. This is one that doesn't: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072J422CZ

u/faizimam · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

SO, what's the deal with RX 560 prices?

Something like this is $150: http://www.pc-canada.com/item/RX560%2D4G.html?utm_source=pcpartpicker&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=pcpartpicker

Yet other brands and models range all the way to $200 plus, like this one: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B072J422CZ/?tag=pcp0f-20

All are 4gb VRAM, is it just sellers trying to get as much money as possible? or is there any read difference in product quality?

edit: and given that all my gaming will be at 1080p, if not less, am I losing anything by going for a 2gb model for $140 like this: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131724&nm_mc=AFC-C8JunctionCA&cm_mmc=AFC-C8JunctionCA-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10592396&PID=3938566&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=afc-%zn

Does anyone think I should go with a little bit better GPU?

I'm looking into the new H115i Pros and was hoping the size was small enough to not run into this issue. The motherboard I have this all on is the Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Gaming K7, with all four RAM slots used.

For example, In my steam settings, it keeps resetting the automatic download settings and downloading anything it want whenever it wants. In the spotify desktop app it keeps resetting some stupid setting that activates a useless overlay. Any idea why these settings would keep resetting?

> Second issue i’ve been having is network related. The first network issues i’ve been having is with windows delivery optimization always activating and eating the entirety of my bandwidth, jumps my ping in games to over 500. I tried every solution i could find online, have delivery optimization turned off in windows settings and set my connection to metered but the program still runs and eats bandwidth until i end the task manually. I’ve also been having weird issues where any time a program begins using a decent amount of bandwidth, the game that i’m currently playing will get huge ping spikes and I usually get disconnected from the match if i dont close the program. Is there no way to ensure that a specific game will always have enough bandwidth to run properly?

You should buy a low-end video card from a place that will let you return it if it does not work. An AMD RX560 or a GTX 1050 Ti would be the best choices.

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-560-AERO-ITX/dp/B072J422CZ/

You will have trouble with many games due to the 4 GB of system memory. Upgrading the system memory would cost money, and it is a poor use of money. It will always be slow, even with 8 GB.

u/SteveHeist · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Yup, that's exactly what I meant.

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-560-AERO-ITX/dp/B072J422CZ

It'll do you fine.

The cheapest new pre-built I can really recommend is this:

It's a little outside the budget.

https://www.microcenter.com/product/607846/pavilion-gaming-desktop-pc

That said, here's a solution I was sharing with someone earlier. It's not as simple as just getting a pre-built, but it's close. This is cut and pasted from a conversation. Sorry if any of it is phrased weirdly.

This desktop https://www.newegg.com/hp-pavilion-590-p0050-student-home-office/p/N82E16883288712?Item=N82E16883288712

With this video card https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-560-AERO-ITX/dp/B072J422CZ/?tag=akshatblog198-20

or this video card https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GeForce-Graphics-Windforce-Gv-N1650OC-4GD/dp/B07QHGKC2D/?tag=akshatblog198-20

We're limited in which video cards we can use here because the PSU doesn't support the separate power connector. All power must be drawn from the PCI-E slot. Everything in there is fine. You just can't do much to upgrade it. I think there's one SATA part open, one RAM slot and one PCI-E slot open.

I think the RX560 is great if your monitor has freesync, but the GTX 1650 is slightly more powerful overall.

You're looking at about $500 going this route. However, if you update it at all, the value proposition here goes to crap, and you're better off saving and getting something a little better from the start.
