I'm shopping for a new computer, and I swear some parts just magically went up in price since last time. I didn't write anything down but this one is just way too obvious (if you don't want to click, it's a MSI radeon rx 570). The (MSI radeon rx 580) superior model's full price is about 300$. If memory serves, the 570 was 210 or 220$ last week, and now it is shown as 49% off 415$. At first I legitimately thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me but now I'm fairly confident in my memory again.

So far I only found one offering from them

Looks like same price on Amazon. https://www.amazon.ca/RX-570-8G-OC-Graphcis/dp/B076Y93L8F
20 dollar rebate doesn't appear to be store specific so you should be able to get that as well. https://msi.rebateaccess.com/promotion.php?p=88462

u/chimeinrightquick · 4 pointsr/EtherMining

are you joking? you can get one for brand new on amazon for $190 a 580 at that. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-580-ARMOR-4G/dp/B076Y93L8F?th=1

the 2000 series will never be worth it for eth.

u/mrplt · 3 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

It is. If you check this for example, you'll see that there is a "Special offers" part.

u/RaptaGzus · 2 pointsr/Amd

Wow, sucks for the CPU's.
But as is the case in other south Asian countries, the 570's the best value https://www.amazon.in/dp/B076Y93L8F (you could probably find it cheaper too). Out of it, the 580's, and 1060's, and 1660 technically too although that's a different tier, it has the best perf/$.

My video card crapped out on me out of the blue (granted, I've had it for 4 or 5 years at this point), in spite of my best efforts to keep my rig well-maintained. This is bad because video cards cost money, but also good because this is a hell of a deal and packs significantly more punch than my old card. It was so reasonably priced that I actually consulted with a friend of mine who builds computers as a hobby to make sure there wasn't some scam between the lines. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited for it to arrive on Friday.

> AMD RX 570 is the best "budget" option for your CPU (equivalent to Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB while costing less)

Did you mean 6GB? That's what I was looking at.

I have no experience with non-Nvidia cards and I (wrongly) dismissed the AMD cards. The RX 570 I'm seeing is significantly cheaper, 110$ less. A quick look gives me the impression that the 1060 6GB is better than the RX 570 8GB, but maybe not worth the price difference.

In fact, even a RX 580 4GB is still 60$ less, and again a quick search shows a similar performance to the 1060, albeit with 2GB less memory.

I'm now unclear as to what would be the better choice:

  • RX 570 8GB (220$)
  • RX 580 4GB (270$)
  • 1060 6 GB (330$)

    > Nvidia GTX 1070 (Ti)

What I find is well above 500$, which is impossible for me.

From what I can tell from a quick search, the SSD has DRAM so it seems to be fine. A SU800 or Ultra 3D may be better options though. Also, if you get that GPU, buy it from Amazon since PCPP doesn't see the MIR for some reason and also claim the $30 gift card promo.

Would you say this card would be a good pick?

You would be better off getting an AMD RX 570. It's roughly the same price as a 1050ti and has better performance (plus it supports FreeSync if you have a compatible monitor or plan to upgrade your monitor in the future). This one is £160 (probably won't last too long at this price): https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B076Y93L8F/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new.

I'd also suggest getting a 550 watt power supply instead like this Cooler Master MasterWatt: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B076PMC7QH/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Looking to upgrade the GPU in my secondary rig from a 770 2gb to a 570 8gb that's on sale right now (in Canada). Here is the rest of the build.

Gaming at 1080p 60hz, is this a worthwhile upgrade? Otherwise was going to try an hold out for a GTX1060 6gb if a dual fan ever hits $350 here.

Hey all, total noob here.. I want to upgrade my graphic card, processor and RAM. Will these be compatible with my motherboard MSI B75A-G41 CPU RAM GPU

Is anyone able to give me some insight into the difference between these two video cards:

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01LZYPEHK/?tag=pcp0f-20 1060 6gb

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B076Y93L8F/?tag=pcp0f-20&th=1 RX 570 8gb

I use a freesync capable monitor, is the RX570 worth it?

Nope, this GPU would perform about 25% faster while consuming 60% less power and being new, all while being 20% cheaper.
