GTX 760, honstly I'd be more likely to recommend a R9 270, I personally think there isn't enoguh of a performance gap to spend the extra cash but you may like nVidia's extra features (Game Stream, Shadow play and PhysX) but it will cost you more.
My R9 270 runs AAA very well.
For a little more $ you can get the R9 280

Ah. I was looking at this MSI R9 270 and from the reviews it looks to be a cool-running card. Do you think this is a good choice for the price?

A wee bit over Budget, but as small as I could possible make it and still be very powerful. Great CPU, and GPU more powerful than the gtx 750ti and anthlon. Very small case too.
Or potentially opt for this GPU if you don't mind used:

MSI R9 270 are available for $179. I run these cards and they are great.
An advantage over the gigabyte cards is they only require one 6 pin power cable instead of two.Edit: You picked ASUS cards, not Gigabyte. From what I have heard, Asus cards are far inferior to Sapphire, MSI, and Gigabyte cards when it comes to mining. Just do a search on r/dogemining and you will find many complaints about them.
