Not metal, but pretty heavy duty ABS plastic that could be drilled for mounting, also light weight, durable and waterproof with a positive latch to keep it closed and can be locked with a padlock. Also cheap and comes in a few colors:

The inside dimensions might be a problem since the ABS is a lot thicker than the old steel boxes.
