Experiment with different positions. When mine was at it's worst, I could only do hammer curls without searing pain in my forearm.

I also got neoprene forearm bands. The pressure on the tendon helped dull the pain.

I get pretty nasty tennis elbow in both my arms from a combination of Ultimate Frisbee, lifting, typing, lab work, and knitting. When it gets really bad, I take ibuprofen and use a band like this one. I've used a similar band when I got jumper's knee (patellar tendonitis). I'm not sure whether something like this would work for triceps but it's worth looking into! Good luck.

>One of my biggest surprises has been how much better they've been since starting the program.

One of my best friends runs my box. He'd been telling me for over a year that he could fix my tendonitis in my right elbow. I'd been going to the doctor and (completely useless) PT for a year and a half. After two cortisone shots, the doctor told me that my only real option was surgery. To me, that wasn't an option. I decided I'd just wear my armband and deal with the pain and (according to my physical therapist) the chance of nerve damage.

Well, after being told that cortisone wasn't going to fix the problem and surgery was my option, I decided that I'd give crossfit a chance. The worst I could do is make my arm worse and have to have surgery. So in May, I showed up for the first class and started working on my arm.

In three weeks, it was 90% better. Today, I have almost no pain at all. I'm told that what's happening is that I'm damaging it slightly and pushing it to heal correctly every time.

Yesterday part of the WOD was 5RFT of 10 American KB swings, 10 DLs (215), 10 20" box jumps and 10 burpees. No pain at all, and there was some pressure on that elbow. (Well, muscle pain, but that's to be expected.)

I'm gonna say that if you want to put up with pain for a couple weeks while your body gets used to doing all this, go for crossfit. It's changing my life for the better every day.
