  • TIGI Bed Head

  • American Crew Fiber

  • Murray's Pomade

I'm just doing comb over right now, and the Bed Head does great for just keeping it all stuck together. Good for a quick messy look, nice shine on it too.

Fiber was nice when I wanted to give it that messy look. Better than bed head for longer hair.

Murray's is concrete for hair. I've only ever bought like, 3 tins of this stuff in 13 years of styling hair, and it was always for a mohawk. Shit, just grab a can just in case.

If you mean this stuff then it will absolutely hold your hair and then be a huge fucking pain in the ass to wash out later (like multiple washes won't get it all out). I used to use it and I'm never going back to it.

But if you just care about hold, then this is the stuff.

I'm not sure. It's be in a Beauty or barber supply store. Or here: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B000EVGPC2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1417551540&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40

It's very important to make sure it's warm before you put it in your hair. I leave mine to warm on my dashboard. I live in Texas, so that might not work for you. In the summertime I make beef jerky in my car.

If you're not partial to Murray's, Dax Wave and Groom is really good too.

Murray's. You can find it at the pharmacy for <$3. It's marketed to black people so you know it's some serious shit. If you use enough, you can wash your hair multiple times and it won't come out. Lasts forever because you only need to use a little bit.

Murray's Hair Pommade. 1 tin per year or more. https://www.amazon.ca/Murray-Dressing-Pomade-Unisex-Ounce/dp/B000EVGPC2 look for it on the shelf, it's like $3.

This thread hasn't been super helpful for me either.

My major problem is that my hair may get looking like that but then it stays before it is a mess again. Here's what I do:
Stop washing your hair. I get mine washed whenever a haircut happens.

Get haircuts often to keep the shape and style you want.
When your hair is wet cover a fingertip with some [Murray's].(http://www.amazon.com/Murrays-363978-Pomade-3-oz/dp/B000EVGPC2)

Use a lighter to heat up the pomade until it is runny. (you will regret it if you don't)

Run through hair and put it in the style you want.

Wait til dry, mess it up so it doesn't look wet.

Style stays until you sleep on it.

I hope this was helpful and not too late, I was actually here looking for alternatives in hair product but everyone likes Axe and American Crew, both of which are nowhere near the hold I need. Also, I never put Murray's in two days in a row. I let my hair breathe some and I sit in the shower soaking and scrubbing my heat for at least ten minutes with just water to remove it.

My hair is about your length right now as well. I'm due for a trim on the sides and back, but I keep everything looking clean with this. It's truly your best bet if you're looking for a style that requires pomade, you can pick up a tin for like 3 bucks at Rite Aid or Walgreens. Keep in mind that it is oil based though, so it's going to take a few days of not using it and washing to get it out of your hair. Although you can also use a product like Groom and Clean that will take it out immediately.
